In the Garden

I have been spending a great deal of time in the garden.

It is my favorite place to be.

Weeding, digging, and planting has always been therapeutic for me.







When my hands are busy in the soil, the cares and trials of life tend to disappear.









 I can focus on the work at hand and appreciate the beauty of a simple flower or how the greenery moves in the breeze.








It also serves as inspiration.









 It connects me with our Magnificent Creator.









It restores my soul.








Praying each of you today can find something that brings joy and peace.  It just may be found in the garden.

Glimpse of May

 

Hello Friends thought I would share a glimpse of May with you.

These two wanted to share too! 



Here is our first harvest of the season - radishes.








At a quick glance these blackberry blooms look very promising.  Will be doing some summer picking if they continue to flourish.






   

Caught sight of spiderwort...it will soon be giving us a show.







Spotted these carefree flowers growing side by side.  They make a cute pair.







Speaking of a pair...the irises are in full swing.

A Lovely Finish


 May is leaving us with a lovely finish.

The clematis has started to bloom...







Spiderwort and Yellow daylilies are giving us a show...







The pink peonies are bursting forth...








White Campanella bells are standing tall as the month of May waves farewell.







Lastly one must not forget the foxglove.  They too wanted to say good by.

On that note I will say good night and wish all of you a lovely finish to your month of May.

"In the Garden"

When early morning beckons me outdoors I am often reminded of the old hymn "In the Garden".

As a child my grandmother would sing this song until sleep would come.

Sadly it is not a hymn that is done much anymore.  Growing up in a little country church it was often played for prayer time.  More modern choruses have crowded it from the worship services today.  I certainly miss it.

The words and music were written by C. Austin Miles.  It's first copyright was 1912.

"I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses;
 And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own;









  And the joy we share as we tarry there none other has ever known."
