Beginning

The month of June marks the beginning of summer for many of us who live where we enjoy the four seasons of the year.  It brings roses...

Peonies and Salvia...

Sweet William - Bachelor Buttons...

and Larkspur to name a few.

The sweet cherry tree's blossoms of April bears fruit which in turn attracts

 so many lovely birds.

Yes, this beautiful month is just the start of what will follow.

Praying all of you are having a great beginning to June.

Hugs

Debbie

Vacation

This past week I was on vacation.  It was a break from the usual routine.

A pleasant respite - a time to rest - a time to reflect - a time to enjoy the treasures of summer's first baby steps.

The interlude gifted me with lovely moments in the garden...

     long walks with two friends...

       porch sitting...

       reading a thriller...

and doing a bit of journal sketching.

As always hours fly when one is enjoying those precious days out of time.

Whatever vacation looks like for each of us; it should always mean we are restored.  I was!

Have a good week.

Hugs!

Debbie

New Home

On January 29th my dear mom moved to her new home in heaven.

Even though there is sorrow, there is joy as well.  She lived a life of faith and love for her Lord, her family and her friends until the very end.  I miss her now but someday we will be together again.

Thank you all for understanding why I have not posted sooner.

God Bless

Debbie

"In the Garden"

When early morning beckons me outdoors I am often reminded of the old hymn "In the Garden".

As a child my grandmother would sing this song until sleep would come.

Sadly it is not a hymn that is done much anymore.  Growing up in a little country church it was often played for prayer time.  More modern choruses have crowded it from the worship services today.  I certainly miss it.

The words and music were written by C. Austin Miles.  It's first copyright was 1912.

"I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses;
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own;

And the joy we share as we tarry there none other has ever known."

Thank you for letting me share this sweet hymn with you.   Have a blessed week!

Findings

This afternoon I took a walk.   Thought you might enjoy a few of my findings.

A lovely butterfly resting in a shady nook ...

Some cattle grazing on a near by hillside...

Roses waiting to be picked...

Scented peonies dancing in the breeze...

and last but not least...
two friends taking a break!
Hope you enjoyed my findings!     Have a great day!

Sabbath

For the next couple of weeks I will be taking a wee bit of a blogging Sabbath.   The charms of the garden are calling me... Some new pastel...
