November Walk

Kelsey and I took a lovely November walk this afternoon.  It was cool but the sun was shining.

As you can see the brilliant colors of October are past and the hills are rather bare without their bright garments.

There are still a few oaks holding onto their leaves.  They always seem to be the last to shed their foliage.  In fact some will last until next spring.

With the time change we will be out much earlier for our walks.  Here in Ohio the weather can be quite unpredictable this time of the year.  We even had snow on Halloween this past week.  Glad it did not last.  There is nothing like sunshine and blue skies to make one's spirit feel more alive.

Thank you all for stopping by and for your thoughts, sweet words and prayers from my previous post.

This photo was the last one of our Schindler.  We still miss him so much.

Take care and have a blessed week.

Hugs

Debbie

I am giving thanks for morning's light...

Last but not least I am giving thanks for family and all of you, my dear friends.

God Bless!

An October Walk

There is something so lovely about an October walk.

Those first color changes that dot the hillside seem to pop.

Oak leaves transitioning from green to other hues can be seen along the way.

If you look up you may spot the moon peaking through the blue.

What can be nicer on a walk than to have some company.

Schindler likes to stop and take a rest.

Not so this miss.  She is saying  "Come on. Hurry up you two slow pokes."

Well I guess we need to be on our way if we are going to finish our October walk.

Hope all of you have a lovely end to your week.

Wanted!

 Yes I am Wanted!

My name is Kelsey but my alias is  peepoochewpup!

I arrived at Harmony Hills a few weeks ago.

They are hoping that in time I will not have to be in the slammer.  Upon good behavior and training it is possible in 6 months that parole will be granted.

Of course that means I need to change my ways.

As you can see by my cage that destruction is my method of operation.  There also may be other issues needing addressed.

In the meantime, upon the head warden's approval some recreation is permitted.  Of course only under the watchful eye of the guard dog Schindler.  He seems to have taken a liking to me.

Well folks it is nice to meet you.  I think you will be seeing more of me in the coming months.

For now I am once again under lock and key.  At least there are 3 hots and a cot in this joint!

Have a great rest of the week.

P.S. The mistress says she is sorry for not posting earlier this week...hoping to get back on track for the rest of the month.

Hugs

Butterflies and Other Lovely Gifts

August has brought us butterflies and other lovely gifts.

I spotted this Monarch on today's afternoon walk .  Are not these purple thistles a pretty lavender color?

The black Swallowtail was gathering his nourishment from the clover as we traveled by.

These lilies must have offered the perfect spot to attract another visitor to stop and enjoy a drink.

Our peach tree is full this month and gifting us with the sweetest of fruits.

Iron Weed and Golden Rod make such a complimentary duo.  They are two wildflowers that grow together in August's meadow.

Speaking of twosomes - Schindler and Shelby are generally close by.  Today's walk was no exception.

Thank you for letting me share some of this day's lovely gifts.

Hope everyone has a delightful week.

Vacation

This past week I was on vacation.  It was a break from the usual routine.

A pleasant respite - a time to rest - a time to reflect - a time to enjoy the treasures of summer's first baby steps.

The interlude gifted me with lovely moments in the garden...

     long walks with two friends...

       porch sitting...

       reading a thriller...

and doing a bit of journal sketching.

As always hours fly when one is enjoying those precious days out of time.

Whatever vacation looks like for each of us; it should always mean we are restored.  I was!

Have a good week.

Hugs!

November Afternoon

It was a lovely November afternoon...

warm and sunny.

Perfect for a walk.

The sky was so blue.

Found a few rose hips growing along the way.

Later planted a batch of tulips.

Did some pruning.

Then took time to "look up" and say Thank You for such a beautiful November afternoon.

Hope all of you may enjoy one too.

First Day of March

The first day of March brought blue skies...

 Pussy Willows bursting forth...
and loads of sunshine.

Just may be time to put these old boots away.  Hoping so.

May all of you be blessed this first day of March.   Have a great week.

Adventure

Shelby Waiting

It was a perfect day for a winter adventure.

Shelby is always up for a longer walk -

Schindler up Ahead
Schindler too!

We spotted some round bales of hay hiding beneath a bit of white stuff.

The old apple orchard looks forlorn during this winter season  -

so does the berry patch.

A remnant of autumn still standing with a dollop of snow was found.

Wow this was quite a hill to climb but we managed to get to the top without a hitch.  Sometimes it is nice to turn an ordinary walk into an adventure.    Hope you enjoyed coming along.

Have a blessed week.
