Signs

Finally there are signs that spring has arrived.  These tulips know it.  They opened right up to the warm weather we had this weekend.

The flowering trees are beginning to bloom.

 Fields are greening up.

Cherry blossoms are beginning to show.

Virginia Bluebells are gracing the garden with their delicate frills.

When the hummers return that is when I know spring has arrived at last.

Hoping all of you are seeing some signs too.

Have a blessed week.

Hugs

Debbie

Gone

April is gone and May has returned.

I confess friends this is one of my  favorite months.

Yes the bluebells and the daffodils have faded but there are some lovely tulips stepping up to take their place.

The dogwood are giving us a lovely show...

azaleas too.

In the midst of  all this beauty I have begun to paint again.

Seeing the spring flowers blooming gave me back the desire to pick up my brushes.

Sometimes there are certain seasons that inspire more than others - perhaps this one is mine.

So even though April is gone let us welcome May.

Have a lovely week dear ones.

Hugs!

Arrival of June

The arrival of June has brought a myriad of delights.

A butterfly's visit...

Sunshine and Shade...

Fragrant blooms ...

 and floral portraits that inspire

the heart of this artist.

Hoping all of you are enjoying June's arrival.

Have a great week.

Waiting

Like this little fella I am waiting for spring.  Hoping that we will soon be turning the corner and seeing warmer days ahead.

In the meantime I am painting spring dreams.   When March arrives I begin imagining what will soon be blooming in the garden.   Where winters seem long and harsh one is challenged in the art of patience.  Yesterday I caught sight of some snowdrops bravely pushing their way out of a blanket of last season's debris.  Friends that is a sure sign spring is on its way.

Are any of you waiting for spring?   If so maybe you will share what you are doing until it arrives.

Have a blessed week.

Hugs Debbie

P.S. these winter photos were taken last Tuesday- since then our snow has disappeared.

Thievery and other Happenings

Friends I am sad to say that in the midst of  the lovely month of July I discovered a thief.

For quite some time this peach tree has been losing its lovely fruit.
In the spring it was loaded with the bountiful promise of an abundant harvest.
In my dreams I was baking fresh peach pie...savoring golden sweet jam on my morning toast and having plenty to share with family members.

Alas it isn't happening.  Today on my usual walk  I spotted the cause of my disappearing fruit.

Right in broad daylight and not in the least upset getting caught - here he is!  I ask you do you think that face looks the least bit ashamed?

So it is off to the berry patch I go.
Better hurry before that little rascal decides he wants some berries with his peaches.

By the way I am still doing some painting this summer.

Over at Doodlewash they are celebrating #WorldWatercolorMonth.  Am not participating every day but whenever I can will be posting a bit of art.   It is not too late for others to join.

Well until next time have a blessed week.

Hugs Debbie

P.S.  Watch out for those thieves.   They may appear cute but don't be deceived they will steal your best fruit!

February's Arrival

With February's arrival fresh snow came.  It is a gentle reminder winter is still here.

The old apple tree bends its limbs to receive a light covering of white.

The hills in the distance have taken on winter's chill.

To chase away the season's grays I have pulled out Nita Leland's wonderful book "Confident Color".   Each page has lovely art work and different exercises to build one's confidence and knowledge about color.

It has inspired me to pull out my brushes and paint.
Isn't it true that finding inspiration can be illusive?
At times like these am so grateful for encouraging authors such as Nita Leland.

Her words are the perfect antidote to make those seasonal blues go away.

Speaking of  words I am sharing a favorite song of mine performed by Michael W Smith.  Hope you enjoy it sweet friends.

Have a lovely week - God Bless until we meet again!   Hugs

Plein Air Painting

Yesterday morning was perfect for doing something I love - plein air painting.

These sunflowers volunteered to pose for a couple of hours.

The birds provided lovely music...

while a couple of friends stopped to visit.

Before I knew it noon had arrived and the morning had disappeared.   Amazing how fast a few hours can fly when one is doing something they love.

Hope sweet friends you find a perfect morning to enjoy that special thing you love to do.

Hugs

Restful

I love a day that is restful.   It gives one time to reflect...

sniff out an unfamiliar scent...

Imagine what you would see from this viewpoint...

or this one...

and even finish a forgotten painting.

So glad you stopped by.

Hope you will share what you do with a  restful day.  Have a lovely week.

Hugs Debbie
