Red, White & Blue

Tomorrow we will be celebrating the Red, White and Blue.

The fireworks have already began.  We saw lovely ones last evening from a friend's home.  They live in view of a lake and every year there is a beautiful display.  It is so amazing to see all those colors brilliantly sparkling in the evening sky and then reflecting on the water.

Tonight from our hillside we caught a few more happening.

July 4th  has always been a favorite holiday of mine.  Who doesn't love a cookout and getting together with family and friends to celebrate?

Wishing all those who will be gathering to enjoy the fourth, a safe and happy one .

To all my friends in other lands have a wonderful week.

Hugs!

Debbie

Do You ever wonder...

why the sky is blue...

certain flowers flourish in the heat...

others not so much.

Why a butterfly selects the common clover for its nectar...

or one type of tree bears apples...

and another peaches.

Finally what makes this a cat

and this a dog?

Silly questions for sure.  Yet if we had the answers to these - then perhaps we just might have wisdom to solve the bigger concerns that this life holds.

Thank you for letting me share my wondering with you.

Have a blessed week.

Hugs
Debbie

Spending time

As the garden winds down I find myself spending time there.   So many wonderful subjects remain.  They need enjoyed before they are gone.

This solitary Hollyhock inspired the sketch above.  Are not those pink petals so feminine?

The Blue Morning Glories when open have such a great pose.   They may be a bit invasive but what a delight to draw.

From this spot I can savor the last blooms...watch the hummingbirds prepare for their trip south... and hear the garden's final call.

Glad you stopped to visit.   I so love spending time with you in the garden.   Have a blessed day!

Sabbath

For the next couple of weeks I will be taking a wee bit of a blogging Sabbath.   The charms of the garden are calling me... Some new pastel...
