Three Books

Hi friends.  Happy August to you. Thought this week I'd share three books I am in the process of reading.

As many of you know for me August is my slow down month.  I seek a shady spot, a cool drink and something good to read.

Billy Showell's " Botanical Painting in Watercolor" is one that is being revisited.  Her botanical paintings are beautiful.  She is very generous in sharing her colors and techniques.  This book is not only informative but lovely to page through.

"Dandelion Summer" is the second book on my list.  Lisa Wingate is a new author for me.

Our local librarian recommended her and said this book was wonderful.  Thus far I have found it to be so.  Am only through the first few chapters but the story has me hooked.

It takes place in Dallas, Texas with a widowed older gentleman and a teenager living in a sad environment.  There is a bit of mystery that will keep one turning the page.

The last book being shared is "Shelter in God".

Dr. David Jeremiah wrote this during the pandemic.   It is an exploration of several psalms and how David found comfort and shelter in God.

I have always enjoyed the writings of Dr. Jeremiah and this one is no exception.  Very appropriate not only for the times we are living in but on a personal level as well.  I would highly recommend this one.

Well dear ones I am off to my shady spot.  If any of you are reading something worthwhile...hope you will share it.  Until next week...God Bless.

Hugs

Debbie

2021 & January Pastimes

Happy 2021 friends.  I hope that all of you have had a good start to the New Year.  Thought I would share a few of my January pastimes.

This book by Dr. David Jeremiah looked like a great book to begin the coming year.  I have already read several pages and find it to be very uplifting and inspiring.

Have been doing a bit of drawing and painting the past few days.

It is good to once again find some time to pursue some creative endeavors.

Speaking of time I found myself working on this 1000 piece Nancy Drew puzzle.  My brother selected this Christmas present for me. (He always knows what I love!)

This gift brings back many wonderful memories of growing up.  Carolyn Keene's " Nancy Drew" mystery books were a favorite series of mine.  I am sure at one time or another have read most of these titles.  It is a great way to spend a quiet January day.

Perhaps you will share a few of your January pastimes with me.   Would love to read what each of you are doing as your 2021 unfolds.

Take care and have a blessed week.

Hugs

Autumn

I was beginning to fear autumn might not show up at all. She was certainly late for the ball. This week though she made her colorful entranc...
