"Battle Hymn of the Republic"

This post and video is dedicated to all those that have given their lives so that I may be free.   God bless each and every one.

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."   John 15:13 (NIV)

May all who are celebrating Memorial Day tomorrow have a wonderful celebration.  To my friends in other lands...I wish you a great week.

Will be taking a break for a few days but I'll be back in June!  Catch up with all of you then.

Hugs  Debbie!

Winner

I was the lucky winner at Joyce Alice's blog.

The photo does not give justice to this whimsical kitty.   She made me smile as soon as I saw her.
There is a perfect spot in my studio for her to sit.

Also enclosed in the package was this gorgeous necklace that Joyce made.

Will certainly feel dressed up when wearing this lovely piece of jewelry.    Thank you so much Joyce.

It is always nice to be a winner and this was no exception.   Hope you will visit Joyce's blog.   You are sure to enjoy your time spent there.

Thank you for letting me share my winnings with you.
  Have a great day!

Old Friends

The other day I found some old friends in the shed.

They had been waiting patiently for me.

Quite some time had passed since we were last together.
After catching up a bit - it was time to get busy.

First we planted some lettuce, radishes, and beets here.

Then we moved on to place these violas in their new home.  I think Bunny was happy for some company.   He had been rather lonely.

Mrs. Hummingbird stopped by to over see the process.   She chatted a bit and then moved on.

Later another sweet visitor stopped to say hello.  This one thought we were doing a fine job.

.

Scooter was not quite as happy.   He thought a bit more work needed done.  His path seemed a bit too weedy.

Unfortunately the rain moved in and we didn't get finished.  I am sure though that tomorrow my old friends will be more than happy to join me.

So glad that you took time to stop by..
Hope you find some old friends waiting for you too.   Have a great evening.

Fading Fast

The spring flowers are fading fast.  I picked the last daffodils this evening.   The Virginia Bluebells that only a week ago were in full bloom are shedding their petals everywhere.

If I hurry I can still gather some lilacs and sweet violets for the art table.

There are always so many plants during this season that inspire me.  So many wonderful blossoms to capture and so little time.

Tulips come in such a lovely array of colors that it is a challenge to choose which ones to grow.   This particular tulip was bent over by the wind and rain that just passed through a little while ago.   Decided it needed rescued.  May just have to paint this one.

Looks like I might have some help!

May you all enjoy whatever is blooming in your world before it fades.

Thanks for stopping by.  God Bless!

Paying Tribute

Today I am paying tribute not only to my wonderful mom but to all mothers across the world.

May you be blessed with great joy.

"She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.   She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.   Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her...Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."   Proverbs 31:26-28, 31.

Happy Mother's Day!

Morning Light

Hubby captured this lovely morning light today.
Even though a storm was rolling in from the west...

east the sun was rising...it colored the earth with a yellow glow.

Lightening and thunder rolled in a few minutes later making these brief moments precious.

Thank you for letting us share our morning's light.   May you have a wonderful day.   God Bless!

Peaceful Place

Sometimes when life becomes challenging it  is nice to seek a peaceful place.

Generally the outdoors is where I find mine.   Bird song, sunlight , blue sky, gentle breezes all testify that no matter what God is good.  He never leaves us or forsakes us!  God always remains the same.
God is Love!

Hope if you need some rest from life's ups and downs you will find a peaceful place too.

Have a wonderful week!

Sow

It is the time of the year when I begin to sow seeds for the coming season.  Discovered a different method on You Tube...they call it "...
