It is time to say "so long" to June. Where did the month go and why did it go so fast?
As July comes this week and the 4th is only a few days away - am reminded that life is short and we need to live in the moment.
Life here on planet earth is far from perfect but each day holds opportunities that should not be missed.
As always it is easy to forget the present focusing on what is to come or even looking back at the past.
Yet it is in the "here and now" that we experience gratitude for the sunshine, the rain, the breeze and all manner of blessings. When we fix our gaze on what is lovely and admirable one find's "the peace of God that passes all understanding".
My prayer for all of you dear friends, is that you will find genuine joy in today leaving the regrets of the past behind and avoiding being anxious about tomorrow.
Have a wonderful beginning of July.
Hugs!
Debbie
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Phil:4:6 & 7 (NIV)
When you spoke of gazing on what is lovely, it reminded me of the verse, Philippians 4:8. Your flowers are in full bloom this summer. I am seeing lots of wildflowers right now. It surprises me that July is here already. Thank you for your prayer today, Debbie. I hope the July days are pleasant ones for you.

Hello Debbie, your photos are beautiful! I love the Scripture verse you are sharing as well! Your prayer is very much appreciated, as are all your posts. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love all your garden/flower photos - your yard has got to be just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJune did go fast, but I am glad waiting for a baby - I am a little anxious.
Do you have any plans on the 4th? We are going to a BBQ at a friend's house which will be nice.
I love the Peace of God that passes all understanding. He can sure do that can't he?
I find it a DAILY DECISION on choosing how to live. Do you wallow in self-pity or do you deal with things and move on. I think living in the here and now is what Jesus wants us to do.
"When we fix our gaze on what is lovely and admirable one find's "the peace of God that passes all understanding".
ReplyDeleteAmen to that!
Thank you for the prayer at the end.
What lovely sentiments in your post, Debbie! I'm not quite sure how June is coming to an end so quickly. There is much to be thankful for. Have a wonderful week and a safe and happy 4th of July.
