What a...

lovely August day.  The sky was so blue with white puffy clouds...

The zinnias that were just seeds in the ground two short months ago are joyfully drinking up the sunshine.

With all the rain we have had in the past few weeks...mushrooms have popped up everywhere.  I thought these red ones were quite pretty.

Each morning brings an abundance of colorful veggies and fruit.  Today was no exception.

The Rose of Sharon continues to provide sustenance to the hummers.  They were visiting as I selected a few tomatoes for our dinner.

Hay got baled this afternoon.  It is so pleasant to see those round bales sitting awaiting winter's sojourn.

On another happy note...my brother's arm and leg and fingers are healing nicely.  He is now able to care daily for his burns at home.  Thank you for all your wonderful thoughts and prayers.  Prayer really does work!

Well God Bless you all and thank you for letting me share this lovely August day with you.  In sharing, this makes the day even more special.

Hugs

Debbie

Abundance

The word "abundance" brings to mind this season of the year.  It evokes the feeling of more than enough.

The meaning according to the dictionary, states that it is a large quantity of something.

The Topical Bible addresses it to mean, "to be heavy", "to overflow", or "to plait together", to "augment" and to "multiply".  Clearly within each of these descriptions we find a surplus that can be shared.

So with this in mind I will share a few of the lilies that are in bloom...

apples ripening - soon ready to pick...

another baby bird getting ready to leave the nest.

Last, but not least this cheerful zinnia patch.

As this month of July comes to a close - hoping that all of you are finding abundance in your days.  Would love if you would share them when you stop to visit.

Enjoying

In spite of the dry weather we are enjoying the veggies that can be picked daily.

Did I mention one can never have enough zucchini - well possibly it is time to pass a few along to some friends and neighbors :)!

These lovely lilies are one of my favorite flowers that bloom in August.  They bend their petals downward instead of opening up to the sky.  They grow tall and don't seem to mind the heat and lack of moisture.

Garden phlox is another perennial that blooms later in the summer.  They are not as joyful as the lilies but their fragrance makes up for their lack of show.

The little hummers continue to visit and keep us very entertained.

Well dear friends this is what we are enjoying at Harmony Hills this week.  Hope you will take a minute to share something that is bringing you joy.

Puttering

For the past three days I have been puttering.

Did some in the studio...

some in the vegetable patch...

and just a little in the kitchen.
White Chocolate Raspberry Bars

Hot Air Balloon
Then when my puttering was done spotted this lovely sight.   Hubby captured it on film.   So glad he did.

Hope all of you had some time to putter as well.
Have a blessed week!

Gathering...making preparations

I am in the midst of gathering and making preparations for the coming season.

It is difficult to tell summer goodbye but autumn brings a special joy.

In the garden there is much to finish up and put away.   This afternoon I took the time to cut Sweet Annie and some Goldenrod.   I hung them in the shed to dry.

They should be ready for wreathes and arrangements in about two weeks.
There are still zucchini and green peppers to gather... cabbage and beets to put away.

Bright nasturtiums are blooming in autumn's  colors.

I continue to keep my hummingbird feeders filled for all those sweet hummers that are making their way south for the winter.  They will be missed.

As always I am so glad you stopped by for a visit.
May God bless you.
