Here are some simple pleasures I found this past week.
A basket of gathered apples from the old orchard near our home...
veggies to please the appetite...
fresh picked beans...hmm looks like someone is checking them out!
feathers and a sprig of larkspur to sketch...
and lastly a bouquet of wildflowers with a delicious handful of blackberries.
May each of you find some simple pleasures too.
Have a blessed week.
Hugs Debbie

A great week to you!
Such a delight! Simple pleasures are the best!!
ReplyDeleteThese little gems make me feel all is right with the world.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous larkspur sketch!
Beautiful post, Debbie!
Love the post and especially enjoyed seeing the painting study of the Larkspur. Similar in some ways to the Columbine, maybe?
ReplyDeleteAnd is that a flicker feather?
I am actually painting radishes at the moment so enjoyed seeing fresh leaves as mine are wilted... very handy. My daughter grows all their veggies, but is not close enough for me to take advantage. Is the white flower Queen Ann's lace? It doesn't really look like it but maybe the angle. Sorry about the questions but it is a great post.
Have a blessed week, my friend.
The basket of apples would make the perfect still life Debbie......and a beautiful larkspur sketch.....wonderful work!!

ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, wild bouquets are the most beautiful and yours is just awesome. Summer passes too quickly and I just can't believe we are almost in August. Look at all your garden products!....Wow, you must work lots of hours outside! Your drawing is so sweet, I hope you find the time to do more. A hug
ReplyDeleteLove those apples and the veggies. I envy you for producing your own fruits and vegetables. And your watercolor sketch is beautiful, I love the blues. Greetings
ReplyDeleteThe smallest pleasures can yield the biggest treasures...
ReplyDeleteThe delicacy of the sketchbook page is admirable - the colours are beautiful. -best wishes.
Oh my, everything looks so good and each photo should be a painting! I always love peeking into your sketchbook ,Debbie, it is a beautiful rendering of a gorgeous flower!
ReplyDeleteI need to come live where you are. Sadly two elk broke my fence and ate all my beautiful greens beans. I caught them with beans hanging out of their mouths claiming not to know why I was yelling at them. lol Those apples are beautiful..Love your painting of the wildflowers! to love feathers and gather them all the time. My mom told me before she died that she would always be with me, just look for a feather and know she is there. As I left her memorial service a feather blew down in front of me. She still sends them. :-)
