December

Today did not look like a December day.  The snow we had last week is gone.  It did not stay for  long.

The sky was a breathtaking blue...not a cloud to be seen.

Red rose hips glistened in the sun.

Even a few blackberry leaves were still clinging to their branch.  

No it did not feel like a day in December.   Hard to believe it is less than two weeks until Christmas.

November Afternoon

It was a lovely November afternoon... 

warm and sunny.

Perfect for a walk.

The sky was so blue.

Found a few rose hips growing along the way.

Later planted a batch of tulips. 

Did some pruning.

Then took time to "look up" and say Thank You for such a beautiful November afternoon.

Sixty Years

Today marks sixty years of living.

Here are a few bits of wisdom I have learned over six decades.

Life may bring changes but some things remain the same.


There is nothing like a lovely walk in the woods to clear one's thoughts.

The joy of gathering generally starts at a young age.

A loyal dog makes the best friend!

One never grows too old to enjoy dressing up and going to a party!

Last but not least spending time "looking up" yields a great way to start a day.

So there you are sweet friends...a few pearls of wisdom.   Bet you have some too.

Changes

October's beginning has brought some lovely changes to Harmony Hills.

Goldenrod

and white asters are making a bright display.

 Vibrant oranges and reds

have started a brilliant show.

Even the butterfly seems to enjoy October's changes.    Hope you are too!

November's Inspiration

November's inspiration comes in many forms.  It may be found in the dry, rustling grasses of a meadow.  Perhaps it will be golden seed pods or red rose hips...

















the remaining russet leaves that dance forlornly in the wind...











 fallen pinecones that are tipped with white sap...

 the song of a cardinal in the thicket ...

or the flash of a white tail deer on the run.

Whatever it may be... let it speak to your soul today.
