Beginning

The month of June marks the beginning of summer for many of us who live where we enjoy the four seasons of the year.  It brings roses...

Peonies and Salvia...

Sweet William - Bachelor Buttons...

and Larkspur to name a few.

The sweet cherry tree's blossoms of April bears fruit which in turn attracts

 so many lovely birds.

Yes, this beautiful month is just the start of what will follow.

Praying all of you are having a great beginning to June.

Hugs

Late

Autumn's changing colors are a bit late.  The weather has been so warm for this time of the year.

The white phlox are still blooming...

bachelor buttons too...

and morning glories as well.

Yes there are some spots of color but October's usual array of hues is late.

Perhaps winter will be the same.  That would not make me sad!!

Hope everyone has a lovely week.

Where is Autumn?

Many of us in this part of the world have been asking where is autumn?

Our vibrant fall colors are missing.
The temperatures remain unseasonably warm.

Summer flowers are still blooming...

Even I have returned to painting spring subjects.

Today the wind is blowing.   That often signals a change in the weather.  Just maybe it will bring some of autumn's glory.   Hope so!

Take care friends and have a blessed week.

Cicadas - This and That

Just out of the Ground with brown shell
The seventeen year Cicadas have arrived.   They are everywhere clinging to grass and leaves.  Their visit is accompanied by a constant hum from sun up to late afternoon.
They metamorphose from this shell into a black-winged insect with red eyes.  Not the prettiest bug!

On a lovelier note - yesterday  brought a gorgeous sunrise.

Fog shrouded the hills as dawn left us behind.  It was a beautiful June morning.

The peonies and bachelor buttons are in full swing in the garden.

Male Hummingbird
Mr. Hummingbird is constantly reminding me he needs lots of nectar.   Certainly keeping me buzzing around filling the feeders.

Shelby
Speaking of buzzing - got to go for now.  Someone is waiting for their walk.

Thanks for letting me share a bit of this and that.   Will be around to see what is happening in your part of the world.

Have a wonderful week.

Hugs Debbie
