Holding On

This boy is holding on as winter's bluster continues.

His lovely mate is waiting to eat.

Their Blue Jay friend is thinking it is more than his turn at the feeder...

while these two buddies are just happy to clean up the leftovers.

Yes sweet friends I am holding on too while winter continues her visit.

We are preparing like so many in our part of the world for the coming Arctic Air .   Hope all of you are warm and safe.

Hugs Debbie

  1. {{Brrrr}} sounds quite chilly.
Those sweet birds have to deal with that cold.
I love the way cardinals stay together, the male will even wait for female to eat, such a gentleman. :)

    Have a great week ♡

  2. Thank you Debbie. Love the photos and the text.

  3. Beautiful -- winter returning here as well ... sigh -- January has seemed endless ....

  4. Yes, the Arctic Vortex is swallowing up our area too. The bad thing is before it hits this warmer air and rain will be melting the snow. My poor plants will be shivering something awful. Do keep your afghan handy the next few days.

  5. I guess I shouldn’t complain about the cold weather coming.. after all it’s January!!! Lol however, I look forward to Springtime in New York!!! Beautiful photos as always!!! Stay warm, my friend!!!!

  6. Gosh what exotic garden birds you have Debbie! so pleased to see them having plenty of bird food to eat during such a cold winter. We had some snow but it is almost melted away, so far our Scottish winter has been quite mild really. Though the temperatures are to be quite cold for the rest of this week. In many ways during this winter season we are often finding ourselves in a place indoors looking out into great white stillness. It is quite a meditative time of year, and it is also a time to reflect the gentle and quiet beauty of time and nature.

  7. The rain last week cleared away our covering of snow, but I think we're getting a new one tomorrow. Birds must know it's coming because they're stocking up at the feeder this morning!

  8. I thought we were going to have a mild winter-but guess it's not to be. Isn't it wonderful that we can watch the birds and feed them? It's one of my joys. Stay warm and safe my good friend!

  9. One of the sweet joys of winter is to feed the birdies and observe them . There is the bully , there the shy one and those two are quarreling ... just love them ! Take care !

  10. Your little friends need a spot to keep warm. Stay toasty, Debbie!!

  11. Your winters bring so many delights as you've shown in these photos! I hope you weather the cold Artic air safely in the next few days. I can't even imagine temperatures that chilly.

  12. The photo of the cardinal against the snow is really pretty.

  13. So sweet, these birds, love watching them too! We had some snow last week, only for two days it lasted. But more is expected this week. Stay warm!

  14. How cold is it there? We've been watching the weather up north and brrrrrr!

  15. Stay warm Debbie, we've seen how cold and snowy it is over there.
Lovely birds in your photos. Cheers now :D)
