Holding On

This boy is holding on as winter's bluster continues.

His lovely mate is waiting to eat.

Their Blue Jay friend is thinking it is more than his turn at the feeder...

while these two buddies are just happy to clean up the leftovers.

Yes sweet friends I am holding on too while winter continues her visit.

We are preparing like so many in our part of the world for the coming Arctic Air .   Hope all of you are warm and safe.

Hugs Debbie

  1. {{Brrrr}} sounds quite chilly.
Those sweet birds have to deal with that cold.
I love the way cardinals stay together, the male will even wait for female to eat, such a gentleman. :)

    Have a great week ♡

  4. Yes, the Arctic Vortex is swallowing up our area too. The bad thing is before it hits this warmer air and rain will be melting the snow. My poor plants will be shivering something awful. Do keep your afghan handy the next few days.

  6. Gosh what exotic garden birds you have Debbie! so pleased to see them having plenty of bird food to eat during such a cold winter. We had some snow but it is almost melted away, so far our Scottish winter has been quite mild really. Though the temperatures are to be quite cold for the rest of this week. In many ways during this winter season we are often finding ourselves in a place indoors looking out into great white stillness. It is quite a meditative time of year, and it is also a time to reflect the gentle and quiet beauty of time and nature.

  7. The rain last week cleared away our covering of snow, but I think we're getting a new one tomorrow. Birds must know it's coming because they're stocking up at the feeder this morning!

  8. I thought we were going to have a mild winter-but guess it's not to be. Isn't it wonderful that we can watch the birds and feed them? It's one of my joys. Stay warm and safe my good friend!

  9. One of the sweet joys of winter is to feed the birdies and observe them . There is the bully , there the shy one and those two are quarreling ... just love them ! Take care !
