Transition

The month of August seems to always bring changes.  It is a transition time.  Summer not quite over and fall not quite here.

Like the garden I tend to slow down and savor the final bits of this warm season.

The last of the day lilies are completing their show.

.

The peaches are sharing the end of their harvest.

Iron weed has began to decorate the hedgerow.
Even Shelby knows it is time to take a break and enjoy these precious passing moments of summer.

Hope each of you are enjoying them as well.

P.S.   At least here at Harmony Hills the yellow school buses are hitting the road this week.   May all the children be safe.

God Bless!

Debbie

While Away...

Did a bit of painting...

Made some blackberry jam...

Gathered a few veggies...

Enjoyed a little reading.

Glad to be back dear friends - missed everyone.  Will be visiting each of you to find out what you have been doing while I was away.

Have a blessed week.  Debbie

Honoring the Memory

Today I am honoring the memory of my Dad.   He enjoyed westerns, cowboy hats - boots and country music.  I still miss him...I always will.

One of his favorite singers was Johnny Cash.   Hope you enjoy this song.

To all the Fathers, Husbands, Uncles, or Stand-in Dads - God Bless and Happy Father's Day.

Arrival of June

The arrival of June has brought a myriad of delights.

A butterfly's visit...

Sunshine and Shade...

Fragrant blooms ...

Decoration Day

Hubby reminded me that many years ago Memorial Day was once called Decoration Day.  It became a federal holiday in 1971.

Tomorrow in America we will be celebrating this special holiday.  It continues to be a time that one can stop and remember all those who gave their lives for our freedom.

May everyone have a blessed week.

God Bless

Garden Days

This week has been filled with garden days.

Yellow day lilies have opened bringing cheer.

Lavender Rhododendron started its lovely show (gift from hubby's mom thirty two years ago for our 10th wedding anniversary)...

this pink beauty was found at a local greenhouse (I just could not resist )...

impatiens are a necessity for a shady nook...

and of course one could not forget a few colorful annuals for the flower cart.

I adore garden days!  Hope you enjoyed them as well.

Have a lovely week.

Hugs Debbie

First Days of May

The first days of May were filled with wonderful happenings.

These Azalea bushes donned their beautiful blooms to usher in this merry month.

Then guess who returned...

the sweetest little visitor.    I know he will be staying a while.

This wee one made his first fledgling flight.   He had a rough start - landed hard but as you can see  managed to make it to a branch for safety.

Shelby and Schindler kept a careful watch to make certain he was fine.

I got busy and bottled up some spring...Dandelion/Rhubarb Jelly.   When winter arrives this delicious treat will be a great reminder of the early days of May.  (Might not last that long - lol)!

To finish...

saved the best til last...
Hubby built this special flower cart with his own two hands.  Me thinks he is a "keeper" for sure!

Well I hope everyone enjoyed their visit this week.   If the rest of the month remains this full - May will fly by fast.  Let's make a plan to savor it.

God Bless!

Return

It is good to be back from spring break.   I have missed you and am glad to return.   Will do my best to visit everyone and catch up on all your news.

While I was gone look what started blooming:

Tulip and Virginia Bluebells

Apple Blossoms
Isn't it amazing how just a couple of short weeks ago the fields wore winter's brown.  Now they are wearing that lovely spring green.

Hope everyone has a blessed week.

May everyone who is celebrating Holy Week and Easter have a blessed one!
Will be  back in a couple of weeks.

Awakened

Well look what has finally awakened from a long winter's nap.

 Pussy Willows...

A honey bee...

a few daffodils...

a hidden crocus...

and last but not least a sweet robin.

Yes my friends I think spring has awakened!

Hope all of you are enjoying some of the same awakenings.   Have a lovely week.

Hugs
Debbie
