I am reminded with this lovely Christmas card
that a Child was Born over 2000 years ago.
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel" - which means, "God with us." Matt. 1:23 (niv)
This is the best gift mankind could be given. He came for each of us - no one is excluded.
May the miracle of His birth and God's love touch your heart this season.
Have a blessed Christmas! I will be seeing you in the New Year - God Willing!
Hugs Debbie

Christmas Carols
There are so many wonderful Christmas Carols that it is a challenge to say which one would be my favorite.
"Silent Night", "The First Noel" ," Away in a Manger" are all well loved. One though that seems to be especially uplifting is "Joy To The World". It was written by a London pastor Isaac Watts. I just recently read though that Mr. Watts did not have the birth of Christ in mind when he wrote this hymn. He based the words on his interpretation of Psalm 98 which does not refer to the Lord's birth.
How it became a Christmas carol remains a mystery. I am sure though that it is a great favorite of many during this beautiful season of the year. It is one of mine. Hope you enjoy this lovely song performed by Celtic Women.
"Shout for joy to the Lord all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music, make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and sound of singing." Psalm 98:4-5 (NIV)
Have a joyful week.

Holiday Madness
My hubby and I managed to avoid the holiday madness that takes place the day after Thanksgiving. We spent time relaxing - enjoyed a lively game of Scrabble...a trip to the library and a delicious salad from Subway. Whatever bargains were missed cannot hold a candle to the simple pleasure of a quiet day savoring some relaxation before the Christmas Season arrives.
Wishing all of you some peaceful time as well.

Leaving
Today we are taking a walk and leaving the world's woes behind.
We are "Looking up" - enjoying the beauty of a November day.
Drinking in nature's loveliness...
Not getting entangled with life's brambles...
walking away...
and remembering to smile. It always makes things better.
Hope all of you are doing the same. Thanks for taking time to visit.

Letting Go
This is a season of letting go.
There are remnants of autumn that remain but more bare branches are seen.
It is in transition - getting ready for what comes next.
I too am letting go and making a transition.
Instead of painting flowers...
branching out to abstracts.
Letting Go |
This is certainly a change for me. Sometimes one needs to let go a bit and make a transition.
Would love to hear if any of you might be letting go and making a transition.
Have a lovely week.
Hugs Debbie

Being Grateful
November's arrival has me focusing on being grateful.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner (here in America) it is nice to consider all the blessings one enjoys.
Such as beauty found in a blue sky...
wildflowers pushing their way through an old pile of wood posts...
a solitary posy bravely reaching for the sun's rays...
simple leaves and weeds to sketch...
and last but not least - all of you who show up faithfully each week to pay me a visit.
God Bless
Debbie

Frost
A heavy frost came to the hills at Harmony this weekend.
The grass was crisp with crystals that sparkled in the morning sun.
This always make the fall colors more brilliant...
the landscape more alive...
and the sky appear more clear.
May everyone have a lovely week.

October
There are many things that I love about October...
Colored leaves to paint...
sunny walks...
Gorgeous blue skies...
but most of all beautiful sunsets.
May all of you be enjoying this wonderful month of October.
God Bless
Debbie

Do you think...
she knows summer is over and it is time to go?
Photo was taken the second day of October when temperatures here reached 90. Yesterday morning we had lows in the forties. I am thinking she may know now :)!!
Everybody have a wonderful coming week.

Not Quite
It is not quite October and already we are seeing spots of color...
there are bits of red ...
and yellow mixed among the greens.
Yes dear friends October may not have arrived but it looks like the hills are getting ready.
Have a wonderful week.

September Morning
I love a September Morning when the sun starts to rise...
and the dewy mist cloaks the hills...
as while wild morning glories open to the dawn of a new day.
May you too enjoy a lovely September Morning.
Take a listen if you have a moment to another lovely oldie...September Morn by Neil Diamond.
Have a blessed week.

Last week of Summer
It is official - the last week of summer has arrived.
The final cutting of hay is done.
Blackberry leaves are changing to a lovely shade of crimson.
Green burrs have now turned brown.
Golden rod grows tall among the brambles.
Even these two know summer is coming to an end.
It is time to say farewell to this season and embrace autumn's arrival. May it bring joyful moments as well.
God Bless!
Debbie

Do you ever...
have a song from the past that keeps running through your mind?
I have not heard this one in years. For some reason the melody and words keep playing in my head.
Perhaps you might enjoy it. Yes dear ones it is an "oldie"... "Green Fields" by the Brothers Four.
Have a blessed week.
"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven...a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance." Eccl. 3:1 & 4 (NIV)

Labor Day
Tomorrow brings the last holiday of summer in America - Labor Day.
Hope all who are celebrating have a happy and safe one.
Taking time to "look up" for those in the path of Dorian. May God keep you in the palm of His hand.

Taking Time
I've been taking time this week to notice nature's lovely compliments...
Queen Anne's Lace dotting the summer meadow...
that there is nothing more peaceful than sweet bovine grazing...
acorn caps make great ground decoration...
and fallen leaves means autumn is just around the corner.
So glad you stopped by and took some time to visit. Hope your final week of August is wonderful. Will see you in September :)!!
Hugs Debbie
