Busiest Month

May is the busiest month of the year for me.

There is work indoors and outdoors.  Never seems to be enough time in the day to get things done.  Is anyone else finding the same situation?

If so come away with me for a moment and rest in the beauty of a peony blooming...

or watch a hummingbird drink a bit of nectar...

take a break and just rest ...

and finally look up and see the sun beginning to set  at the end of the day.

Hope your visit here helped you to pause and relax a bit.

Hugs

Debbie

Gardening

These fine May Days find me gardening.

Violas and pansies are always the earliest annuals planted here at Harmony Hills.  They do not mind a bit of frost and even thrive in cooler temperatures.

They have the sweetest faces and come in so many varieties.  Mr. Bunny was happy to take his place once again among these beauties.

As warmer weather arrives more time is spent outdoors weeding, digging and planting.  There is always garden chores to be done.

So for now friends I am off to the garden.

Have a lovely week.

Hugs

"My Mother's Prayers Have Followed Me"

There Is an old hymn that comes to mind today..."My Mother's Prayers Have Followed Me".

My beloved Mom was a woman of prayer and I know she prayed for me throughout her life.

Today I am so grateful for all those prayers.

Hope you will enjoy hearing this song.

God Bless!

Gone

April is gone and May has returned.

I confess friends this is one of my  favorite months.

Yes the bluebells and the daffodils have faded but there are some lovely tulips stepping up to take their place.

The dogwood are giving us a lovely show...

azaleas too.

In the midst of  all this beauty I have begun to paint again.

Seeing the spring flowers blooming gave me back the desire to pick up my brushes.

Sometimes there are certain seasons that inspire more than others - perhaps this one is mine.

So even though April is gone let us welcome May.

Have a lovely week dear ones.

Hugs!

Cheer

There are certain moments that bring us cheer.

When I spotted this visitor yesterday I had to smile.

Is it any wonder the bird feeders are empty so quickly?

He knew he was caught but that didn't seem to phase him.  Breakfast was over and it was time for lunch.

For sure he will be back for dinner.

Hope he brought you a little cheer.  Have a happy week.

Hugs!

Daffodil Tour

For many years our county would sponsor a daffodil tour during the month of April.  Folks would meet at a designated place and pick up a map.  They then were able to travel at their own pace along scenic country roads.

There were historical places to stop and visit... spots of fun activities for old and young...as well as refreshments being served.  It was a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon .

Unfortunately it was one of those annual events that came and went ... not sure why, but I miss it.

Today I am sharing a little daffodil tour of mine for all those of you who love these spring flowers.

Over the years there have been so many new varieties offered.  The pink cups are one of my favorites.

Love these frilly centers...

and this orange one really catches attention...

and are not these wee white ones sweet?

As you can see the daffodils are one of those flowers that is easy to grow and never disappoints.  Once they are planted in the fall spring blooms are almost guaranteed.  It takes a fairly heavy freeze to keep them from giving a show.

Well I hope friends you enjoyed the daffodil tour.  I certainly enjoyed sharing it with you.

Have a blessed week.

My Father's World

In April when the Peach tree begins to bloom...

The Daffodils blossom...

and the Blue Jay stops to visit I am reminded of that lovely hymn - "This is My Father's World.

Amy Grant does a lovely rendition of this song.

Hope you enjoy.

Have a lovely week dear friends.

Looking Back

Sometime it is fun to take a stroll down memory lane and look back. This photo of the blue bird was taken several years ago.  They are such ...
