These crocus bring the promise of spring...
the budded pussy willows too.
The robins and red-winged blackbirds have returned. The cardinals are busy building their nests and preparing for their young. Spring is in the air!
All of this has filled my heart with hope making me anxious to plant seeds and work in the dirt.
Picked up this lovely book at the library yesterday. There are beautiful photos and enchanting words that touch the soul with the meaning of how connected we are to the Great Gardener of all! Christie Purifoy captures the beauty of how a garden can add not only to the outdoors but turn a house into a home. A great book to read just before retiring for the night!
Well friends St. Patrick's Day arrives Monday.
My blogging buddy Sandie at "Chatty Crone" encouraged me to celebrate. Upon her advice, am doing so!
To mark the celebration hubby and I will be having cabbage and corn beef with carrots and lime gelatin for dessert. Naturally one must have something good to eat in order to celebrate :)! May everyone have a blessed week.
Hugs
Debbie
"But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness." 2 Peter 3:13 (NIV)
Spring warmth was here for a while but now rains and some crazy thunderstorms but safe here, just wet :). Hope you are doing well and your gardening will be starting soon! - Rhonda (RHCarpenter)
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Paddy’s Day. Corned beef and cabbage…YUM!
ReplyDeleteIt is a special time of year when the crocuses start emerging and the thought of spring is in the air. My hubby likes corned beef, but I am not a fan. He likes to prepare it himself and then have it for reubens for a few days. I know he will enjoy it. Have a great celebration and enjoy the return of spring this week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful signs of spring. Sandie is doing a good job of encouraging her blog friends to do things.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the signs of Spring. a couple weeks ago when I went food shopping the corn beef packages were very small with high prices-first time in over 40 years I haven't made us a boiled dinner. Larry loves reubin sandwiches too--I am anxious for flower planting too hugs Happy new week
ReplyDeleteWell I am so glad that you are having corn beef and cabbage - I AM! Ann is going to wear green - me too. It is just fun to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are going to celebrate spring there too with the crocus and pussy willows. You can plant those seeds soon too.
Birds are flying all around these warmer days! Love your photos!

Isn't it wonderful to see spring returning to the land? I love watching it unfold! 🌿🌸😊
ReplyDeleteLove to see you celebrating. I would like a good Reuben. Gene is not a fan of the cabbage part of corned beef and cabbage. Ha. Hope the celebration was fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring! I have the gardening itch too! I've been doing lots of yard work to get ready.
ReplyDeleteSo fun to see the signs of spring after your recent snow! I have been resisting any significant gardening until we are fully settled and moved in to our new home, and until I figure out where I can put plants. This time of year is when I most want to plant things, so it's kind of hard. I have a few herbs, and my orchids made the move with us, but that's about it. I'd really like to plant a tomato and a jalapeno pepper plant somewhere.
