Enjoying

We are enjoying some of the early gifts of August.  This Hollyhock chose to wait until now to bloom.  Her friends made their show much earlier and are setting seed.

Mrs. Butterfly has been visiting the zinnias

and lilies.  She appears to be enjoying herself.

Those apples I shared last post, made it into sauce...

the blackberries into jelly.

Well these are just a few of August's gifts we are enjoying.

Hope you will tell me some of yours when you stop by.

Hugs

Debbie

  1. Well, we are 'enjoying' lots and lots of rain. :) But your flowers make me happy!

  2. Our greatgran will celebrate her First Birthday on the 15th but will have her party this Saturday. That's about all the gifts we're being given this month...otherwise, it's too hot! Another record breaking 105-110F all this week, as well!
    Have a sweet day!

  3. The apple sauce and blackberry jelly are wonderful, Debbie. All homemade too. I just bought some Santa Cruz Organic Fruit Spread, and it's really good. The pink flowers are pretty, and you captured that butterfly nicely. They are hard to get a picture of. Your August days sound lovely, Debbie. School has already started this week for many.

  4. Your flowers and your butterfly are beautiful. We are enjoying rain every week-just enough-and sunny days in between. Love you my friend!

  5. Beautiful. I think I told you the Hollyhocks remind me of New Mexico. Homesick in a good way. Thanks for sharing your good times.

  6. Looks like you're making good use of July and August bounty :) I am enjoying reading inside (since it's even hotter than usual this year), learning how to train my dog and making a little progress with her, and re-watching some favorite movies. I'm also doing some decluttering and working myself back into an art journaling habit (this is surprisingly hard!).

  9. The blackberry season here looks like it will be a long one. I don't remember seeing such an abundant crop in the fields before. I am filling the freezer for the colder winter days. As it has been so wet just lately the mushrooms are earlier than usual and are springing up everywhere. It feels like an early and false autumn. (not that I mind as it is my favourite season.) Best wishes for a creative and restful Autumn.

  10. I love your flowers! My Hollyhocks always got mildew and never came back the next year.
