Sweet Memories

The Christmas season always seems to bring back sweet memories.  As I place certain ornaments on the tree it amazes me that some are over 40 years old.  It is only the special ones that get to be there.  They may be a bit frayed or discolored from time but each brings to mind when they were given and by whom.

This small ceramic nativity scene holds a warm place in my heart.  One of my old and dear friends gifted it to me.  She and I for many years spent every Sunday morning playing the piano and organ together for our worship service.  Now she lives in Texas...we don't see each other unless she comes home to visit.

When I left my previous place of employment...all the wonderful gals I worked with gave me this lovely Christmas arrangement.  It never ceases to make me smile.  Astonishing that was 18 years ago this December.

Naturally it is not the physical gifts that matter but the spirit of love that makes them priceless.

Bet you as well,  have gifts and treasures  that give your heart a sweet memory or two.  Hope you will share.

Have a blessed week.

Hugs

Debbie

Time of the Year

Once again it is that special time of the year.   "Will there be snow and mistletoe and presents under the tree?"  May not get the snow and I have no mistletoe but there will be a few presents under the tree.

Wishing each of you a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!  See you in 2024, God willing.

Until then please be good and stay well.

First of December

The first of December brought us snow.

 Several inches covered the ground

and trimmed the tree limbs  white.

In the afternoon sunshine it made a pleasant sight.

Seeing that first bit of winter made me decide I would do a bit of my own trimming.

Nothing like a bit of snow to spark the Christmas Spirit.   Hope you all have

                                         a blessed week.   Hugs  Debbie

Christmas Treasures

This time of the year I love rediscovering Christmas treasures.   They have been  hidden away waiting to reappear. This is their special season.

Some are beloved ornaments hanging on the tree.

Others are decorations sitting in their favorite spot.

Many are beloved gifts from years past.

I am reminded of the giver.   Some are gone now.  Some live far away.

Time and circumstance comes to each of us.  Not all things remain the same.   Even some of these treasures have become cracked and worn.  They just serve as reminders.  What remains is the warm joy of remembering the love and thoughtfulness that was shared.   The true Christmas treasures are always my memories.

I hope you are enjoying some of those too!

Have a delightful week.

Hugs Debbie

Keeping busy

I should be keeping busy with Christmas only fourteen days away.   The shopping is not finished...nor the baking.   Cards still need to be mailed.    Will it get done?   I hope so.   If not Christmas still arrives on the 25th.

In the meantime I will make a hot cup of cocoa and take a few minutes to enjoy some lights.   Why don't you join me.

Thanks for stopping by.   I always love it when you visit.
