A Timeless Request

"Looking Up"
"Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men."  Titus 3:1-2 (NIV)

If folks would follow this timeless request perhaps lives would not be lost, hate would be gone and peace would reign.

Isn't it time we overcame evil with choosing to do good?  I am ready - how about you?

Have a blessed week.

Hugs Debbie

  1. So right, Debbie. Like Mike said to me the other day, when I asked him if the fact that his boss changed his hours and he had gone to work 4 hr. too early and had to come all the way home and then go back again, had made him angry........"I'm only living this day once, so it's going to be the best day I can have and that doesn't include my being angry." He has a lot of restraint. I was amazed. Your post is very thought-provoking.

  2. That is a powerful reminder of my mother. She was extraordinary and followed a path of true humility, consideration for all and unlimited kindness.
I enjoyed reading what Carol said about her husband Mike.
Good to have this reminder of a worthwhile goal.
Have a blessed week, my dear friend.

  6. If only...
I DO see a lot of good in this world. I wish the press would share more of those stories and examples.

  7. I loved this post Debbie and Carol's comment - what a wonderful attitude from her husband. I truly believe we can all make a difference. When you think about doing good is very much like being kind - and I try to be kind even when people around me are being anything but. Have a wonderful week.

  8. I whole heartedly agree and would add:

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
    Phil. 4:8

  9. I'm more than ready Debbie. I was thinking about what's happening in Texas and how quickly we come together to help each other when disaster threatens our neighbors. No one is caring about religion, color, politics or any of the differences that seem to set people on opposite sides..
This should be a lesson... My nephew says these three words, "Do No Harm" .

  10. Yes, choosing to do good...In whatever small ways, it goes out into the world...Who is it who said: There are 3 things that are very important in the world: Kindness, kindness, and kindness...

  14. Good Afternoon Debbie, If only we could all stop and think about the words we use and how they effect people.
I try very hard not to be mean. If I am hurt by someone, I try very hard to understand why they say the things they say. I have to say it doesn't always work.... but the important thing is, I do try.
    Have a wonderful day today.
    With warmest wishes
    Daphne
