 Ah sweet summertime has arrived.  It gifts us with sunshine and shadows...heavenly skies and green fields...

 blackberries ripening on the vine...

early apples that make the best sauce...

wild daisies growing along the fence row...

time to read...

time to create.

Good Ending

I love a good ending.   How about you?

It can be found in the last page of a book ...a final scene of a movie or the finish of a challenging project.  

Thought I would share a few of my good endings with you today.

The peaches will soon be ripe.

When they are - there will be pie.   That should be a good ending😋!  

 These lilies always arrive late in the summer season but they make the garden's end a delight.

   

Long shadows ...

and a neighbors harvest all say it was a good day's end.

Mini Vacation

When summer's heat makes its visit I love to take a mini vacation.

It is my favorite way to travel.   Not far to go, no traffic jams or fear of getting lost.

Packing is easy too.  A straw hat, cool glass of lemonade and a good book makes the luggage very light.  

When I arrive there is a comfy seat in a spot of shade.

Yes friends this place is right out my back door.

"Grabbing the Muse by the Throat"

Wendy Barrett's inspiring book "Grabbing the Muse by the Throat" arrived this week.   It was a delight to hear that I had won a copy.

The year is 2011 and Wendy has embarked on a creative journey.    It is a wonderful tale of overcoming procrastination, and generally focusing on accomplishing the things that matter in our lives.

Wendy generously shares her own personal tips on how to set realistic goals that will lead to success.  For all who struggle to find time to create this is a great read.

 I am always delighted to visit Wendy at her lovely blog.   She lives in Australia and many times she features her beautiful part of the world in her posts.  Hope any who have not visited her will take the time to stop over and say hello.  

The gorgeous card beside her book is a copy of one of Wendy's original paintings.  

Thank you dear friend for your wonderful gift .  I am so enjoying it.

A Wonderful Prize

Today in the mail I received a wonderful prize.  Diane from Always Crave Cute sent me this lovely book by Clare Turlay Newberry.   Diane's blog is always the best.   She is one of my treasured blogging buddies.    If you have never been to visit her please do.  You will have a wonderful time seeing all the cute treasures she shares.  She has a lovely Etsy shop with great vintage items that are sure to bring a smile.

The story of Smudge captured my heart.  Any of you who visit regularly know I love kitties.

One of the beautiful drawings in the book was of Smudge's father Buster.    

His colors are so vibrant.  

Here is Smudge's Mom Muff.
