| Hidden Bird's Nest |
I almost missed this hidden treasure. A bird's nest that somehow survived winter's bluster.
It was creatively weaved together with small twigs and bits of mud.
The thought of one of God's small creatures building this sanctuary with such tender care made me stop and pause.
Wisely it had been built in the center of some thorny brambles. Predators would have found it quite difficult to harm the occupants of this home.

And to you too Debbie. I found an old nest made from grasses in a climbing vine. Around here, robins build stick and mud nests.
ReplyDeleteI've always marveled at what birds can do! They are master builders, proficient navigators and attentive parents. Without birds the world would be a grim place. Your painting is so striking. What a water-colorist you are!

ReplyDeleteWish I could take a real life peek at that nest. Avian architecture never ceases to amaze and thrill me. If is is a robin's nest then there is more mud than it looks under that lining. They are master builders of sturdy nests.
Your painting is so beautiful. What a gorgeous blue you used. What color blue is it...or combination?
