As November comes to a close taking a moment to give thanks.

 For an early sunrise...

Fall's final leaves...

a sunny afternoon walk...

Do You ever wonder...

why the sky is blue...

certain flowers flourish in the heat...

others not so much.

Why a butterfly selects the common clover for its nectar...

or one type of tree bears apples...

and another peaches.

Finally what makes this a cat

and this a dog?

Silly questions for sure.  Yet if we had the answers to these - then perhaps we just might have wisdom to solve the bigger concerns that this life holds.

Thank you for letting me share my wondering with you.

Have a blessed week.

Hugs
Debbie

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."  Isaiah 55:8-9

Pleasant

The weather has finally turned pleasant.

The trees seem to have leafed out overnight.

The azalea is showing off a bright color -

so are these New Guinea Impatiens.

This lovely tulip is one of the last  to bloom in May.

Mr. Bunny seems happy to return to his favorite spot  with the violas.

The Hummingbirds know the weather has turned pleasant also...they are back.

Well that is all for now friends...think I'll just take a rest and enjoy the warmer weather.

May you have a pleasant week.

Hugs

Debbie

Lovely Day

It was a lovely day.   In spite of the cold wind these pussy willows bravely reached upward...

the moon peeked out in the afternoon

and the bright sunshine cast our shadows.

Hope everyone enjoyed a lovely day.    Have a blessed Holy Week!

"While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."    Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying "Drink from it, all of you.   This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."   Matt. 26: 26-28 (NIV)

feathers and a sprig of larkspur to sketch...

Reading

Quiet summer evenings are a perfect time for reading.  There is something special about curling up with a good book.  Such a great way to relax after a busy day.

"The Guardian" by Nicholas Sparks has been on my shelf for several months.  It has been waiting for the gardening chores to slow down.  What a fine page turner.

Kaaren Poole's "How to Sketch Animals has practical illustrations on drawing sweet furry friends.

"Watercolor Simplified" shares Pat Weaver's fresh and vibrant style.   She shows the importance of  planning values and choosing a good composition.  Her limited palette also keeps the painting process simple.

So glad you took a moment to see what I am reading.  Hope you have something good on your bookshelf!

Thanks for stopping by.   Have a wonderful evening!

Creative Endeavors

Today's creative endeavors took place in the kitchen.   With zucchini in abundance I decided to bake these orange glazed loaves.   They are a favorite of mine.   Very tasty with a bit of cream cheese spread on thinly.
This casserole was an experiment that turned out well.   The existing recipe used ingredients that were not gluten free.   I did some substituting and came up with a dish hubby loved.

Creating can be found in so many different forms.   It may be painting...

Growing a garden

taking a picture

or writing a post.

Whatever your creative endeavor is...may it bring you joy today!
 Thank you for stopping by.

Thankful

I am thankful for summer's bounty...
A face that makes me smile...

Hollyhocks against a blue sky...

Berries growing in the hedgerow

A mischievous playmate...

      and time to create!

Thank you for stopping by to say "Hi"!   Have a great day.

It is beginning to look a lot like...

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Time is ticking away and only 19 more shopping days remain.   I need to check my list twice to see who has been naughty or nice.    Then hurry to fill the stockings for little Nell!

Here is someone trying to be good!   Hmm - maybe he deserves some catnip.  Think I can find his present in my herb garden - best check it out.

Hope all of you are enjoying  Decking the Halls
                                                                  Good night and God Bless!

Setting Earlier

The sun is setting earlier these days.   A month ago we saw dusk arrive at 9:00 and then a few weeks ago it was 8:30 and now it is 8:00.   ...
