Time to Rest

This busy season of the year makes it hard to find time to rest.  Everything seems to need attention all at once.

The garden...

 laundry...

Keeping up with one fur baby...

or two!

So I am going to take a wee break for a couple of weeks and see you all in May.

Have a blessed end to April.

Hugs

Texas

Please take a few moments to "Look Up" for those in Texas.  Prayers are needed for all those who are suffering.  May God comfort them all.  Thank you and God Bless!

" Praise be to the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."  2 Cor. 1:3-4

Never Grow Old

There are certain things that never grow old.

Like a morning sunrise...

a cheery flower bed...

a basket full of  sun ripened tomatoes...

  a faithful companion...

a good book or two...

and last but not least your visits and sweet comments!

Have a wonderful week.  Hugs - Debbie

Growing

Since we have received rain everything is growing by leaps and bounds.

By the end of the week I think we will be harvesting a few yellow squash.  The plants seem to have grown overnight...beans and cabbage are doing well too.

The flowers are flourishing also.

Speaking of growing quick...these three baby robins have went from this size in ten short days to small fledglings.

They have grown so much that this little nest can hardly hold them.  I know they will soon be leaving home.  Will miss them when they go.

We too must go for now.  Hope everyone has a delightful end of the week.

God Bless

Debbie

Really?

Can it be really?  Yes friends, it is snow and I am not ready!

Just a week ago it was in the high 60's, warm and sunny.  Today it is in the low 30's and cold.

The Calendula are saying "we are not ready either".

I don't think the cosmos have ever been blooming this late in the season. For sure never when it has snowed.

Guess it is here whether we are ready or not.

Definitely time for a warm cup of cider.

Hope everyone has a wonderful end to your week.

Hugs

Debbie

Time

If you are like me there are moments when you would like time to stand still.

Summer days are some of those moments.

Green fields...

                           flowers blooming...

raspberries ripening...

make me want to hit the pause button of time.

Like this little fellow may we all be still and savor moments that bring us joy.

Have a blessed week.
Hugs!

Pause

I hope you will pause with me a moment.

Perhaps you will stop and enjoy the morning mist...

savor the first ripening raspberries ...

be delighted with a bright orange lily...

 a few pink poppies...

or this lovely purple clematis.

I am so grateful you decided to take a moment and pause with me.

Hope your week is filled with many joyful pauses.

Hugs Debbie

Gather Together

Here in America this week many of us will gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving.

There is something special about sharing a meal, conversation and gratefulness with family and friends.

For me personally it is a favorite holiday of the year.   I love all the traditional dishes this season brings...especially pie!!

The laughter shared, stories told and good memories make the day a big part of gratitude which enriches the spirit.

In considering the gathering together I am reminded of an old hymn that is a Netherlands Folk song.  Hope you enjoy.

God Bless and have a wonderful holiday and week.

Fall Happenings

We at Harmony Hills are beginning to enjoy those wonderful fall happenings.

Lovely colors are starting to make a show.

The hills seem to be changing before our very eyes.

Indoors some simple homey foods are starting to cook.

Nothing like a wonderful chuck roast with a few carrots, potatoes, celery, onion and a clove of garlic simmering to make one's appetite come alive.

Then to satisfy that sweet tooth how about a few oatmeal raisin cookies with a nice tall glass of milk. ( Hmm no wonder my jeans are getting a bit tighter !)

Well best get back outdoors and enjoy the last lovely flowers.   They seem to be holding on before that final frost takes them away.

So glad you stopped to visit and catch up on all the fall happenings.

Hope you will share some of yours too.

Many Hugs!

Debbie

Summer

The garden knows...

so does this field of corn.

The lawn has no doubt.

Schindler 15 weeks old

That makes me sure too.

Yes summer is officially here!

Thanks for taking a moment to visit.   Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Contentment

Today I found contentment.

It was in adding a few finishing touches...

     listening to the flowers whisper...

Shelby-turned 18 mos. July 4th
catching a loving gaze...

 and creating something new.

"...for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances."
Philippians 4:11 NIV

Hope all of you found some contentment today.

Thank you for stopping by to visit.   God Bless!

Inspirations

Everywhere I look there are inspirations to be found.

Weeds that grow along a fence row...

Garden flowers that have delicate petals and interesting seed pods...

Fruits and things that are wild...

a friend curled up on an old quilt...

 the cardinal on a branch.

All these inspire me.   Would love to know what is inspiring you.

Have a beautiful week - God bless!

Sabbath

For the next couple of weeks I will be taking a wee bit of a blogging Sabbath.   The charms of the garden are calling me... Some new pastel...
