Goodbye April - Hello May

I am saying goodbye to April and hello to May.

Like so many of you - am hoping May will bring sunnier days...warmer temperatures...and  lots more time outdoors.

Here are some tomatoes and peppers that were started at the beginning of April...planning on transplanting the tomatoes this week to a bigger pot.  The peppers are not quite as fast germinating - take a little more babying to get them going. :)!!

It would not be May without a sketch of violets.  They are popping up everywhere now.

Today hubby and I celebrated the first of May by joining a couple of sweet friends for a motorcycle ride in the country.

It was lovely to see old familiar places along the way...

and cruise a quaint village .













This week our state begins to slowly open up and ease some restrictions.  Am praying that we are able to do this safely.  As our Governor reminds us - the virus is still out there and most likely will be for quite some time.

On this first Sunday in May wishing all of you the best and please keep safe.

Sunday Afternoon Drive

Hubby and I took a Sunday afternoon drive.   We traveled dirt roads and climbed rolling hills...

spotted an old abandoned railroad car with a proper sign close by ...
















found a cleared path through the woods...

caught site of a lovely church in the distance...

and found this tree growing out of a rock.

What is amazing is all these were within less than ten miles from home.  Just proves there are wonderful sites in one's own back yard.

A Sunday walk

Shelby wanted to take a Sunday walk.

Schindler was more than ready.

We saw a blue sky...

 A cabin in the distance...

and tree branches reaching high.

As we made our way home we were blessed with this lovely sunset. What a perfect ending to our Sunday walk.

Country Roads

Sometimes country roads lead to lovely places.












They often take one to fun spots

where folks will gather

to enjoy the sights,  sounds and scents of a season.

       Others will climb high to show a peaceful setting.












                 

The best ones though are those that bring you home.
