Tomorrow in America many will gather to celebrate Memorial Day. There will be picnics and cookouts as well as parades and special ceremonies. It is my hope that each of us will take a moment to remember our faithful men and women who have served in the military.
Many have paid a costly price so that we can be free.
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 (NIV)
Have a blessed week!
Hugs Debbie
Debbie, this is a beautiful post. I hope you have a special day.
ReplyDeleteI usually try to find a parade or service to honor the day. It is such a meaningful one. Nice quote, Debbie...enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said Debbie!! I will be at my neighborhood parade!! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Debbie. Enjoy your time, my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteIt is a privilege to honor them -as it is a privilege to be a citizen in the country they fought and died for. I do not take it lightly and am proud to have a son who served.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this meaningful post, Debbie.
We don't have Memorial Day in the UK but we do have Remembrance Sunday which is a rather solemn affair compared to yours. Nevertheless we still hold it in the same regard.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely reminder! Hope your day goes well today:)

ReplyDeleteIt pleases me so much to see the flags waving on houses and streets this day. What a wonderful, amazing country we live in and I'm forever grateful for the many that have given so much for it.
ReplyDeleteWe need to all put aside some time to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Very well said.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your special day Debbie.

ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! Hope you're having a good week and I must say I had a special thought for all those who fought and left us to pursue our dreams. A big hug
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful way to remember those who have fallen in war(s). In the Netherlands we remember on May 4, the day before Liberation Day on May 5.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, we should not forget those who gave their lives for our freedom. Thank you for citing John 15:13 scripture. It is a very meaningful scripture which is absolutely relevant for the occasion. God bless Debbie.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb! Hope you've been doing well! Your garden is so beautiful -- and a source of inspiration and serenity!
