Fine Feathered Friends

Blue Jay
Some fine feathered friends came by to say hello today.

The snowy weather didn't keep them from gathering to visit.

These three chums arrived together.    I think they wanted to make sure there was going to be plenty of vittles.

Ms. Tufted titmouse came alone.   She seemed to be in a bit of hurry.  Didn't linger long.  I am sure she will be back again soon.

Naturally Mr. Cardinal showed up.    He was a bit late.   I think he may have been delayed because his girlfriend was taking her time getting ready.

I must say she looked well decked out when she finally made her appearance.

So glad these friends took time to stop by.   Glad you did too.

Hope all of you who are still having winter are staying safe and warm.

Hugs Debbie

  5. The poor old birds must suffer in winter - especially when it goes on forever like yours. It is lovely to see them come to the feeders and the thought that you may be keeping a few alive to see them through to spring. How's the wrist Debbie - hope it's on the mend.

  8. Glad your wrist repair is done and this post finds you well on your way to healing. I love seeing the beautiful birds and have to admit that I think cardinals, both male and female, are just the prettiest ever. The blue jays run a close second though. You must find delight in just watching these guys!

  9. Hello Debbie, what lovely birds! We don't get many small birds in the garden any more, there are lots in the fields around us, but they are obviously finding plenty of food elsewhere. We do get daily visits from dozens of rooks, crows and magpies. I have to say I’m growing quite fond of them. They all seem to have personalities of their own. Barbara

  15. You have so many visitors to keep you company! I think they are very happy with your hospitality. How is your wrist doing? Any update on that?

We had a little more snow yesterday. I'm hoping for some clear weather for a few days since I'll be on the road a bit. I'm heading to visit my brother in GA and then to a workshop in Myrtle Beach. I'll have my computer so I'll be checking in and posting.

  16. What a delightful post. These little birds make me smile. Here, too, the birds are readying for Spring. Our hummingbirds DID return to nest again on a different bicycle than last year. We often run into one another when going in and out of the garage. The doves are calling to one another and the cardinals are slowly returning. So happy to see it. You have many birds that we don't see, and I'm so happy you post them. Hope your wrist is healing and you're doing well.

  21. Such gorgeous birds, I'm glad you feed them. It must be so hard for them to get through such a long, unseasonably snowy winter.

    Blessings,

  22. It is always such a pleasure to observe the variety of little birds coming in to eat , even in wintertime they are quite numerous ! I have a normal blackbird in my garden, but the not so normal thing about it is that the wings are stained with white. Wonder if it's some crossover ?

  28. I hope your wrist is healing well. Suppose it will be a bit before you can start your art again. Lovely to have our feathered friends visit. Especially those pretty cardinals! I always double up on their food on the bitter cold days, I've heard that feeding them towards the evening helps them get through the cold nights. We have warmer weather heading in this weekend and should be warming to the 50's by next week! Looking forward to that and it will be heading your way too! Hugs!
