Gifts From France

My dear friend Barbara Lilian blessed me with the most wonderful gifts from France.

When I opened this lovely package the scent of sweet lavender drifted through the room.    It's fragrance reminded me of summer and the joy of that season.   (To those of us who have had way too much winter - it was a welcome reminder that summer will come again).

Barbara had thoughtfully enclosed gorgeous watercolor cards she had made.   One was done in Normandy
France.    The other was a delightful winter scene.   Both are lovely treasures.    Also there was a packet of hollyhock seeds and a postcard from her visit to Talmont Atlantic Coast in France.

Knowing I love to cook she included an English edition of Cooking in Burgundy and Champagne.    It is filled with the most delicious
recipes.  Hubby will be sampling some new dishes in the next few weeks!

Last but not least was this gorgeous handmade heart sachet.  It had been carefully wrapped and placed in a special gift bag.

Thank you dear friend Barbara.   Your generosity overwhelms me.
You not only gave me gifts from France but you gave me the gift of yourself.    That was the best part of all.

I am so glad I could share these precious gifts with each of you.   Please visit Barbara's blog spot.   You will certainly enjoy your time there.

Hugs Debbie

  27. Dear Debbie, I visited your blog but without comment during the visit of my granddaughters and my daughter.
I admired the photos of snow, and I'm enchanted by the Cardinal, who not lives here so I've never seen from the truth. In the snow, from the real, that red must appear wonderful, if already in the picture is so beautiful!
I am happy to see your surprise-gifts from France, sent by a friend who is also a good artist and interesting blogger. Knowing that you are a fine cook who also counts on local products to make your good food I think your husband will be thrilled soon , of your creations. Harmony (gourmande) hills, more than ever !!!
    Have nice week,Rita.

  32. Hi Debbie,
I am glad you enjoy those step-by-step photos. Voodoo is coming along well - the trick will be to combine his nobility with a hefty dose of goofiness. :) Thank you for your note and encouragement!
