Summer's End

Taking a bit of time to savor summer's end.  Will continue to visit each of you but will not be posting for the next couple of weeks.  God willing - will be back in September.

Long Time

Sunday Sketches

  It may seem like a long time since I last saw the hummingbirds and yellow finches.


















 Or spotted a patch of wildflowers

or looked up at such a soft blue sky...

or caught site of a butterfly...




















or seen hills shrouded in the morning mist.

In reality it hasn't been so long.  It just seems so.


When one is waiting time seems to slumber.

Tappan Lake

 

 A couple of weeks ago hubby and I took a bike ride.   We rode down to Tappan Lake.   It is a beautiful place to visit. 

               Along the way we saw old barns of different types and styles...

 

 

 

 wildflowers growing in great profusion...

 

and green hillsides with blue skies above.

 

The lake stretches for several miles with places to stop and enjoy the view.      

Such a peaceful place to go.

Summer is here!

Summer is here - it slipped in the door today.  The temperatures in NE Ohio are very warm and humid.   The weather man is predicting a cool front coming in tomorrow evening.   That will be welcome.  Some much needed rain arrived on Sunday and Monday.  The garden seemed to leap overnight.   The flowers had a lovely bath and everything renewed.

I took the opportunity to enjoy morning's mist with Sarge.   He always joins me as I move about in the garden.  We check out what is blooming.   Perhaps a weed or two will get a pull.


With the arrival of this warmer season the mowing slows a bit and the frenzy of spring passes.    Summer is my time to sit back and relax.   I catch up on my reading and art.

  I have stretched a couple of sheets of cold-press and hot press paper - revisited some old sketches -

      

gathered a few photo references - and am in the process of experimenting with some different color mixes.

Will keep you posted as things progress.

It is time now to go "look-up" - hope you will too.
