As we all know time keeps moving on.
Seasons come and seasons go. We blink and summer is a faded memory. Autumn's beauty is oft too quick.
A glorious dawn gives way to finding -
A faint rainbow in the morning sky.
It then moves on to embrace the forthcoming day.
Life has a way of moving us to and fro.
This week has found me puttering between saying farewell to the warm days and gathering in the final harvest. All this is in preparation of the cooler weather that we hear is coming our way.
There are still a few ripening tomatoes, a zucchini or two, and lots of butternut squash.
I scrubbed up the hummingbird feeders. They will be ready for next year.
Planted some tulip bulbs (had a helper) in anticipation of next spring. Already there are plans being made for a new growing season.
This lovely orange nasturtium will need to be moved into a shelter. She is just too lovely to have frost bite.
Well sweet friends I am off to spend a few minutes painting the last of the blooms.
Have a great day and savor your time... it is moving on.
Hugs
Debbie

Beautiful photos, dear friend. And I love the Scripture verse.
ReplyDeleteRainbows, never mind how faint, are always a blessing, Debbie. Thank you for blessing me with this post!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words and photos.
ReplyDeleteThe reminder to prepare for winter is here with
bird feeders to go back up.

I was just telling a friend this morning that it will be November before we know it! Hope you enjoy savoring the last simple pleasures of fall. (Your helper is adorable. I'm sure he/she was a great help.)
ReplyDeleteYou tell the story as if things are almost real and that you're putting everything to sleep. You're going slow and enjoying it while you do it. Doing it with love and patience. Very pretty imagery.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies! I love your painting and your helper is adorable! Enjoy the last sunny days before autumn strikes.
ReplyDeleteI often say that life moves us along whether we are ready or not. I try to live in the moment because it is fleeting at best-but that doesn't always happen. We have a hard freeze coming tonight and I am NOT ready at all.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images here. I hope your painting time worked out and you enjoyed the time. xo Diana
First of all, I love that very special verse. The rainbow in the sky is so pretty, even if it is a slight one. I can see why you want to shelter that orange flower; it's just so lovely. Those are big butternut squashes! And so good of you to scrub the hummingbird feeders. Sometimes people forget, and they can get so dirty. Have a sweet October weekend, Debbie.
