Hubby reminded me that many years ago Memorial Day was once called Decoration Day. It became a federal holiday in 1971.
Tomorrow in America we will be celebrating this special holiday. It continues to be a time that one can stop and remember all those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Oh Debbie, what a beautiful tribute this was...SO emotional ... My Dad fought in WWII and thank God he came home to us... but many of the men he was with never came home.
My dad fought in Europe, World War II...it's where he was from...I think that a lot of our current heros fighting for freedom may be legislators...I love the peaceful image of the blossoms...
Your beautiful video segment certainly made the tears flow. A very touching tribute to the men and women who gave and are giving so much to ensure freedom.
So grateful for the peace we enjoy, and for the service of those who've made it possible. Our nephew is deployed right now, and we are all thinking of him and praying for his safety.
