The "Taps" has always been emotional for me. I remember when my Dad passed away, they played it...when they presented me with the flag... I felt such pride.. Yes, I definitely will take time to pause. Thank you for such a beautiful post Debbie!!!
Dear Hilda - they played them for my Dad as well and presented the flag to my Mom. The same for my father-in-law. Yes there is such a pride in knowing our loved ones did not fight in vain. Hugs!
I just watched the laying of the wreath on the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier. Very moving hearing Taps and thinking of the brave men and women lost. This beautiful peony is a reminder that life goes on and John 8:36 is perfect. Thank you, dear Debbie for another beautiful post.
Dear Julie - I am sure it was very touching seeing the wreath being place on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Taps have to be one of the most emotional pieces of music. Hope you had a lovely holiday weekend. Hugs!
Yes, we must always be thankful for those who sacrificed for the freedom we have today. Remembering them is a small thing to do as compared with what they did for us. Beautiful post and flower. Hugs
Have a wonderful holiday.
ReplyDeleteLoree - thank you. It was a lovely holiday.
