This weekend brought us some much needed rain. To celebrate I am sharing this link to the old song performed by Gene Kelly... "Singing in the Rain"...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmCpOKtN8ME
The sunflowers thought they would join in
as well as the Rose of Sharon
and Queen Anne's Lace.
Think I will too!
Hope everyone has a lovely week.
Hugs Debbie
With all the threats of storms we barely got a shower. I love that song and am glad your flowers got some needed rain. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are absolutely gorgeous, Debbie, and always bring me much joy! Here in Montreal, Canada, we have only begun to get some much needed rain. Other than that it has been very hot and humid and many of the flowers and tree leaves have been drying up because of it. I was very happy and relieved to see some rain! I hope you have a wonder filled week!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful you got that refreshing rain. I'd be joining in with you and Gene and all the flowers.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful week ahead.

ReplyDeleteSuch not sweat!!!! Lol
DeleteHappy Return! Have a great week blogging.
ReplyDeleteA rain gauge! I want one. lol
The rain greens up the going brown lawn so the end of summer won't lose its color
I love that song, and the scene where Gene Kelly sings it in the movie. Looks like a blast! Love those sunflowers :).
ReplyDeleteGlad that those beautiful flowers got some rain. Have a beautiful week. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteRain is always welcome this time of year where I live.
ReplyDeleteWe, also, had two days of real showers. It was thunder and lightning and all that goes into making a true downpour. Like everyone, we needed it so much.
ReplyDeleteWish I had thought of going out and singing that song, but, alas, I chose just to open the patio door and stand where I could see the drops, smell it, and feel it in the air. Thank you for posting the song and your lovely photos! Enjoy your new week!
Gorgeous photos, Debbie! We have been 'singing in the rain' for weeks now :( but finally today some sunshine, hooray!
ReplyDeleteRain - how I long to hear that sweet sound. Our well has almost run dry and everything is dusty and parched. I can't wait for the cool days to autumn.
ReplyDeleteOh yes-we are so happy it rained too!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the rain gauge idea! Looks like your flowers are enjoying the showers. We've had thunderstorms most nights for a few days now. One was so bad and I was out in it, almost home with no safe place to pull off the road and wait it out so I crawled at about 5 mph and prayed. Made it safely home. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Sure has been nice here so far.
ReplyDeletecontent you create is quite interesting and informative . hopefully remain consistent and the better again .

Debbie,
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers and so nice to see them. Rain sounds wonderful right about now!
What is the picture next to the rain gauge, by the way? Just curious:)
Have a good week! Thanks:)

Hi, sweet Debbie! I love that song and the movie! What beautiful photos and a post. You, too, have a wonderful week!! Best wishes, Sadami
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to those impacted in the huge flooded area in Louisiana. Like you we embrace rain because it is sorely needed...but, oh, those poor people.
ReplyDeleteThese lovely photos reminded my of the beauty moisture brings while listening to good old, foot happy Gene!
If only I could be singing in the rain - my garden is suffering badly, :(. But at least your gorgeous sunflowers have put a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite songs, we could really use some rain here. It hasn't rained in weeks. Your flowers look very happy, have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteLove the little painting and all the wonderful flowers shown. I just purchased both a white rose of sharon and a pink. They are both small, skinny shrubs right now, but blooming profusely. Have a wonderful week, rain or no rain!
ReplyDeleteI just love those flowers and love that rain and love your appreciation of it all!
