Cold outside!

When it is cold outside and the snow is piled high...

a hearty home cooked meal can warm the body and the soul.

Meatloaf stuffed with sour cream and cheese is sure to please.

Seasoned potato slices

& a colorful crispy salad make great accompaniments.

I am already feeling warmer.   How about you?

Oh and of course one must not forget sweetened baked apples with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to complete the meal.

So glad you stopped by to see what I do when it is cold outside!

Hope everyone has a blessed week!

Hugs Debbie

  2. Everything looks so delicious Debbie. Great pic of the Cardinal. I finally had an interesting bird today, a red-breasted Nuthatch. I hope you stop by to see my post about it. I know you'll like it.

  3. Dear Debbie,

Too bad we didn't live near each other, I would have SO enjoyed sharing this delicious looking and beautiful and heartwarming meal with you. :) Your photos are beautiful and heartwarming. :)

  4. Yum!!!! Can I come for dinner? Looks like you have the right idea of what to do when it is cold. I have been sneaking out to sketch for a little bit in this bitter cold and also painting indoors. Like you I am also making warm, stick-to-your ribs meals. I hope you are staying warm. It is supposed to be even colder tonight into tomorrow.

  6. Looks absolutely delish and I know I would be there in a flash if I lived closer.
Love the cardinal. We do not have them here so they appear very exotic with the tuft on their top-not, yellow beak and that blazing red color.
Have a wonderful week, dear friend.

Potatoes are back on the menu around here. As the sun pours through the windows, thoughts of cooking fill the brain.

  25. YUM! I imagine you are creative with your cooking, just as you are with your painting. Stay safe and warm - it is -7F this morning here and they did not clear the roads well from yesterday's snowstorm :(

  28. Mmm what a delicious dinner. That meat loaf with sour cream and cheese sounds great. My husband likes to add brown sugar in his meat loaves but I don't care for the sweetness it gives to the meat.

  33. Haven´t gotten any of the snow here in south of Sweden, but ALOT in the north I´ve heared. And now they have seen springsigns so I guess winter soon will be over for us in the south. All that food´s looking yummie.

  34. That meatloaf sounds yum yum! My mom makes one where she puts a little stuffing in the middle. That's quite lovely too.

Wonderful comfort food on these still very wintry days. (It felt like Spring yesterday morning and by late afternoon it was snowing and the temperatures were dropping).
