When it is cold outside and the snow is piled high...
a hearty home cooked meal can warm the body and the soul.
Meatloaf stuffed with sour cream and cheese is sure to please.
Seasoned potato slices
& a colorful crispy salad make great accompaniments.
I am already feeling warmer. How about you?
Oh and of course one must not forget sweetened baked apples with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to complete the meal.
So glad you stopped by to see what I do when it is cold outside!
Hope everyone has a blessed week!
Hugs Debbie
Yummy, I am hungry now. :) Have a good week too, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteLooks oh so good Debbie.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so delicious Debbie. Great pic of the Cardinal. I finally had an interesting bird today, a red-breasted Nuthatch. I hope you stop by to see my post about it. I know you'll like it.
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteToo bad we didn't live near each other, I would have SO enjoyed sharing this delicious looking and beautiful and heartwarming meal with you. :) Your photos are beautiful and heartwarming. :)
Yum!!!! Can I come for dinner? Looks like you have the right idea of what to do when it is cold. I have been sneaking out to sketch for a little bit in this bitter cold and also painting indoors. Like you I am also making warm, stick-to-your ribs meals. I hope you are staying warm. It is supposed to be even colder tonight into tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteOh yum! Your meal looks delicious, my friend! Yes, a warm, hearty meal is always a delight on cold days. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteLooks absolutely delish and I know I would be there in a flash if I lived closer.
ReplyDeleteLove the cardinal. We do not have them here so they appear very exotic with the tuft on their top-not, yellow beak and that blazing red color.
Have a wonderful week, dear friend.
The food looks wonderful, Debbie, but I do hope the weather warms up for you.

Good comfort food always warms the body & soul. I loved seeing your visitor in the tree. I would love to see them, they are not here in France. Keep warm
ReplyDeleteIt is a great way to spend a cold day! Your cardinal photo is beautiful! Stay warm xx
ReplyDeleteOoh, comfort food!!! Looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it's cold outside! Nothing like cooking then, to get some warmth in the kitchen and delicious smells all around. Have a comfy week Debbie! Big hugs
ReplyDeleteCan I come over for dinner?! Wow! You are an amazing chef as well as photographer! Yum!
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Debbie! A wonderful way to stay warm when it's snowy outside.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular food!
ReplyDeletePotatoes are back on the menu around here. As the sun pours through the windows, thoughts of cooking fill the brain.
Looks delicious! A warm, hearty meal when the weather is cold. doesn't get better than that! May your week be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, does that all sound delicious. I should be cooking too as the weather here is too cold to do anything else.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, this looks so good! That meatloaf sounds wonderful! We are also freezing here.... Lot's of soups, stews and warm bread on our menu!
ReplyDeletecomfort food, it looks so good, probably just what is needed right now. You have so much snow, here in nc we should be getting a few inches but that may not even happen. Thanks for sharing your simple pleasures and hope you have a blessed week as well. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThat looks absolutely yummy I would have loved to sit down with you for this meal. Beautiful snowy picture all the better for being tucked up warm indoors.
ReplyDeleteI wish you could just airmail some of that to me! It looks just perfect for a cold day- the salad looks especially inviting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful environment but just a little chilly:):):)
Well - if I could get there I'd be there tomorrow for dinner!!! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, Do you have a place for me at the table? Oh gosh that looks good! A meal like that would warm any body up.
ReplyDeleteStay warm
blessings,
Penny
Ooh, how delicious Debbie!! What a great cook you are! Love the snowy scenes and the red cardinal. How special to have them decorating your trees!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're keeping cosy and warm!
YUM!! Looks so good and comforting, Deb. We got a bit more snow --- but it's turned to dangerous ice ... and like you -- the cold is horrible. Stay warm, and keep those home fires cooking!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious meal dear Deb, looks so inviting. And the atmosphere you create is always the one of warmth and cosiness . xx
ReplyDeleteYUM! I imagine you are creative with your cooking, just as you are with your painting. Stay safe and warm - it is -7F this morning here and they did not clear the roads well from yesterday's snowstorm :(
ReplyDeleteIts cold outside here as well Debbie! I think I need to visit you...OR get off my computer and cook something yummy ...this photos are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteMmm what a delicious dinner. That meat loaf with sour cream and cheese sounds great. My husband likes to add brown sugar in his meat loaves but I don't care for the sweetness it gives to the meat.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious feast Debbie, reminds me what I should do more off
ReplyDeleteYum yum! That sure looks great to me, and I live in Florida! even though I guess it's not that cold down here, but we have thinner blood and it FEELS cold anyway :) Mr Cardinal is SO sweet
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Debbie! The meatloaf looks delicious-all of it does....Stay warm dear friend!
ReplyDeleteI MUST try the meat loaf...wonderful comfort food idea for this arctic cold.
ReplyDeleteHaven´t gotten any of the snow here in south of Sweden, but ALOT in the north I´ve heared. And now they have seen springsigns so I guess winter soon will be over for us in the south. All that food´s looking yummie.
ReplyDeleteThat meatloaf sounds yum yum! My mom makes one where she puts a little stuffing in the middle. That's quite lovely too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful comfort food on these still very wintry days. (It felt like Spring yesterday morning and by late afternoon it was snowing and the temperatures were dropping).
