This furry friend of mine has been my latest muse. Have done several drawings as well as a watercolor painting of him. Used graphite and watercolor pencil on a Studio 71 sketch pad. Very little water was used so the paper wouldn't buckle.
5" x 7" |
A photo of a single daisy blooming among some larkspur inspired this small watercolor sketch. It was painted on a Strathmore Ready Cut Watercolor Sheet - hot press. These come in packages of 25. Very nice size for outdoor work or to take along when one is traveling.
Well hope everyone is having a lovely week.
I am so glad you stopped by to visit.
God Bless!
Debbie
both lovely Debbie
Gros bisous ♡
Debbie, These are exquisite. I love them both!
ReplyDeleteYes, we're having a lovely week. Just wanted to let you know there's a Giveaway happening tomorrow on my blog... be sure and check it out!

ReplyDeleteTwo lovely sketches, each very different. So much to do and so little time in December. Have a restful but enjoyable weekend
ReplyDeleteLook how gorgeous and delightful that squirrel is! Really beautiful, Debbie, and makes me want to experiment with graphite and watercolor. The daisies are just super and brings to mind the gentleness of spring.
ReplyDeleteLook a that little cutie! Your squirrel is darling and the flowers are beautiful-very fresh.
ReplyDeleteI like Strathmore too. I use the ready cut sheets (500 series), cold press, for my paintings. Just soak, staple, gesso and go!
Nice work Deb, good to see you and yes, I did have a good Thanksgiving spent with friends in Biloxi.
ReplyDeleteLovely work!
ReplyDeleteI laugh...quick.
I'm so slow quick is like trying speaking a foreign language in a day.
Happy Week-end!

ReplyDeleteLovely sketches both so different, I love the way you have painted the daisies, but your little furry friend is the winner for me. i haven't done any painting for awhile I'm making gifts to take with me to Denmark, we'll be with our son and his family for the festive season I'm looking forward to it so much. All our family together..

ReplyDeleteGood evening Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI just love this squirrel! Your watercolor sketch is just beautiful...
Happy holiday season.
fondly,

The little furry friend is so cute! And love the looseness of the flowers - at this time of year, it's hard not to stress ourselves trying to fit it all in and little studies like this are beautiful and release the artistic need in us until we can do something bigger (if we want).
ReplyDeleteThese are so nice Debbie! Your squirrel looks real enough to touch. and your flower painting looks amazing with all that movement. Take care my friend! Big hugs
ReplyDeleteI love the little squirrel, great textures and I love the fur! Your watercolor is fresh, beautiful and vibrant. I wish you a wonderful weekend Debbie!

ReplyDeleteHow lovely both your watercolors ... Small pets are like goblins curious ... They show themselves to us, but then run away ,inviting us to play, as children.
ReplyDeleteI love your watercolors full of peace, now that winter gets closer to harmony hills.
Have nice week,hugs,Rita.
