Spending time

As the garden winds down I find myself spending time there.   So many wonderful subjects remain.  They need enjoyed before they are gone.

This solitary Hollyhock inspired the sketch above.  Are not those pink petals so feminine?

The Blue Morning Glories when open have such a great pose.   They may be a bit invasive but what a delight to draw.

From this spot I can savor the last blooms...watch the hummingbirds prepare for their trip south... and hear the garden's final call.

Glad you stopped to visit.   I so love spending time with you in the garden.   Have a blessed day!

  2. You have captured the essence of the hollyhock beautifully - the flowers like a dancers tutu. Sadly mine are almost finished and are leaning in a most ungainly manner. You definitely have an artists garden with so many beautiful flowers that demand painting. Have a good weekend - I'll see you when I get back from my trip to the coast. I am so looking forward to being beside the sea again. My spiritual home.

  8. So pretty, Debbie. I love hollyhocks--my grandmother used to have them around her house. I don't think they grow in Florida--at least, I've never seen them here.

  14. Love the hollyhocks , they always remind me of my dear departed gram who had them all about .
I can't seem to get them to thrive here on our farm.
I am blessed with others of my favs here though, like an abundance of marvelous morning glories and oodles of zany Zinnias.
Your artwork is wonderful , it all looks so lovely and relaxing.
