Waiting

I am waiting.   Spring was to arrive today.   It is late.
Perhaps it will come after the snow showers and the cold winds say their final goodbye.

The pussy willows whisper it is time.

The geese overhead honk as if it is here.

The Vernol Equinox promised today was the day!

The boys are so ready...

and so am I.

Thanks for visiting.   You certainly make the wait more pleasant.
God Bless!

  1. Bright and cheerful flowers! I'm so ready for spring! Yesterday morning when I was outside, the birds were singing their little heads off! They are also wishing for spring!

  2. Wonderful photo of the boys waiting
I Like you new banner photo as well.
I'm all right with the late spring because it has given me time to adjust and say good-bye to winter.

  5. It's beautiful, the way you select just the right compositions and lighting for your photos to reflect the sentiment or story that you've written about. The longing for spring is so evident in these photos. A lovely post!

  6. I love your new spring blog banner...
The weather is crazy this year, a few warm days and I think spring is here and then it gets cold again.
The work in progress looks great.
    Enjoy your day,
    Jenni

  8. What a beautiful header photo. Is that your garden? I am sure that spring will be there soon. I love spring. It's summer I dread.

  13. Spring is so capricious, isn't she? I hope she arrives soon for you! It's sunny here, but I'm really hoping and praying for rain or even snow. This winter has been so dry in California that I'm afraid our fire season will be long and horrific. Oh...almost forgot! Your new blog header is beautiful!

    Blessings,

    Victoria

  15. I agree with everything Celia said. And are you supposed to bring pussy willows indoors during the winter? I planted one last spring in my yard and it certainly has no buds on it. In fact there are no buds anywhere to be seen here!

  16. Beautiful, Debbie. Waiting here too - looking for sunshine "inside" and painting flowers does help! I love your new look and especially the eye-catching header photo - did you take that?

  17. What a lovely surprise to find your banner now showing a burst of spring, even if the weather will not cooperate. Did you hear that an attorney in OH is filing an indictment against Puxatawney Phil for fraud - for telling us spring was coming early? HA HA Crazy! Guess all you can do is laugh at the weather - we are still supposed to get snow this weekend and it's cold and windy. What can you do - this is March in Kentucky. April will be better, I hope. Wishing you a day of sunshine and warmer weather. Thanks for sharing the great photos.

  18. I am thankful that you stopped by my blog and left a message. I see that we indeed have similar interests. Love you sketch. I don't have much luck with WCpencils. Probably because I don't use them much. As they say practice makes perfect...or at least tolerable. Love seeing you new baby. I wonder what the boys think of him. I will be interested to see your progress with him. I lost my darling shepherd this past year. Still a big hole in my heart. When I see puppies I get the urge to get another dog. I haven't done so as yet. I figure it will happen in due time.

  21. Debbie your posts are so creative on lots of levels sometimes. This one is no exception. It has a tone of melancholy but that is not a bad thing. We have the emotions so let's use them. They help us know we are still alive and caring. Love all the photos too. Enjoy your weekend.
