My beloved Mom gave me "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young for Christmas. Sarah does a great job with daily devotions. Last year I read "Jesus Always" which was superb.
Mary Alice Monroe is a new author to me. "Beach House for Rent" promises to be a good story that takes place along the coast of South Carolina. The Hallmark movie "Beach House" with Andie MacDowell was based on Ms. Monroe's book. It was a heartwarming tale about a mother and daughter. If you have not seen the movie - certainly recommend it.
Just before Christmas read Kate White's "Such a Perfect Wife ". It was a real page turner. Thinking "Even If It Kills Her" is going to be likewise.
Well there you have it friends my January Reading List. Some of you have shared yours and it is always wonderful to see what is on another's bookshelf.
Thank you to all who stopped by last week and took time to visit and let me know what perfect word or words you had chose for the year.
God Bless
Debbie
"...for I trust in your word." Psalm 119:42b (NIV)
I think I would enjoy Beach House for Rent. Thanks for sharing your list.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've got some good reading there. I've been doing a lot of reading at Jerry's bedside in the hospital. It really does help pass the time and sort of keep me sane. These have been long days without much improvement in his health. I know it is all in God's hands.
ReplyDeleteI have read all of Sarah Young's books. I love her way of looking at the Christian daily meditations.
ReplyDeleteI would love to read Billy Showell's book. I have watched a couple of her vidoes. Very informative.
Enjoy your reads.
I have a short list as of now of books read or being read. I will try to get a list up sometime soon.
I like seeing reading lists too. I've been wanting to look at that watercolor book. Reading this time of the year is such a cozy thing to do!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the list
ReplyDeleteI hope your January is happy
You mentioned a lot of interesting books, anything about houses and painting has my interest, but I mostly get the time to read during the summer holidays . Life really gets in the way :-))
ReplyDeleteOh I do admire all of you who read a lot. I've been trying to read all the Mitford Series books by Jan Karon. I love her! I've finished her first book, "At Home in Mitford" and about half way through the second. I can't sit still long enough to enjoy reading. My mind wanders to things I want to do outside. :)
ReplyDeleteSarah Young's book is on the nightstand, and I thank you for the recommendations regarding the others. Ah, a cup of tea and a good book is a great plan for these cold months:)
ReplyDeleteReading a lot here as well. Mary Alice Monroe is a very popular author in my part of coastal NC ... since many of her books are set on the beaches ... Enjoy the quiet time before spring ... it's really nice to cozy in ...
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting the list, Debbie! I joined a reading challenge for 2020, so I've been asking for recommendations. These sound like they'll be good. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI love to read Art magazines and basically anything to do with art...
ReplyDeleteIts been so long since I've read a book. My mind wanders and will be reading the same line over and over... hmmmmm. I suppose thats the reason it takes me about 5 years to finish one..lol But reading an art book keeps me awake..!! Have a wonderful day, my friend!!!
All the authors that you mention are new for me
ReplyDeleteThanks for share darling
xx

Hi Debbie you have a fine selection of reading for the winter months! I also received books at Christmas I love to read and received a nice selection of poetry, novels and the biography of Marie Antoinette by Antonia Fraser which is a very large book! Wishing you lots of hours of winter reading! Best wishes Caroline
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie, the books you mentioned sound wonderful. I've been so busy lately, and I must get back to reading. January is a good month to read. It always seems like everything stands still the month of January. I appreciate that. Beach House sounds like a good movie. Andie MacDowell always plays a good role.
ReplyDeleteHave a good rest of the week, Debbie.

Looks like you have some good choices to start off the year. I'm going to work on reading books I've bought but haven't read yet--my pile is getting too big!
ReplyDeleteI think my word of the year is going to be "free." I'm still mulling it over.
Gros bisous 🌸
I just requested Beach House, the film, from my library. I'm fond of Hallmark movies, though some are better than others! I don't read much these days...it is an intention for 2020, to start reading more again...Thank you...
ReplyDeleteMy ex-husband and I had always managed to stay friendly after our divorce in February 2017. But I always wanted to get back together with him, All it took was a visit to this spell casters website last December, because my dream was to start a new year with my husband, and live happily with him.. This spell caster requested a specific love spell for me and my husband, and I accepted it. And this powerful spell caster began to work his magic. And 48 hours after this spell caster worked for me, my husband called me back for us to be together again, and he was remorseful for all his wrong deeds. My spell is working because guess what: My “husband” is back and we are making preparations on how to go to court and withdraw our divorce papers ASAP. This is nothing short of a miracle. Thank you Dr Emu for your powerful spells. Words are not enough. here is his Email: emutemple@gmail.com or call/text him on his WhatsApp +2347012841542
