Not Quite!

The Neighbors
The peak is not quite here but almost.   We had our first killing frost of the season last evening. That should mean the hills will don their finest colors and give us a lovely show in the next few days.

In the meantime we are preparing for autumn's glory.
Otis

Otis is looking pretty dapper from his long stay in the shed.   We have brought him out so he can enjoy this beautiful season.

Naturally there are a few veggies needing to be harvested .  These beets will be delicious pickled.

Couldn't resist picking some of the remaining annuals.   They will soon be gone.

Oh and yes we could not forget the fresh apple cider.   Yummy!

I think we are finally ready now.    Hope you are too.

Have a Blessed Week!

Leaf Peeking and such!

Hubby and I decided to take a day to do some leaf peeking.

This year our autumn landscape has not been quite as vibrant.   Perhaps it is due to lack of frost.

We managed though to find some lovely scenes that made us stop and take a peek.

There were some quaint places too that made the trip so pleasant.    This little shop served wonderful soup and the best coffee.

The shelves were decorated with art and antiques.

In the corner was a piano.   Wonder if anyone plays it.   Hope so.

To finish up our adventure we found an old cider mill in operation.  They sold apples,  pears, grapes and of course cider!

It was certainly a wonderful trip - so glad you came along.

Sabbath

For the next couple of weeks I will be taking a wee bit of a blogging Sabbath.   The charms of the garden are calling me... Some new pastel...
