88

My mom would be 88 today.  This would have been a day she would have loved.  Cool but sunny with spring flowers blooming everywhere.

We would have celebrated her birthday by going to lunch and stopping at our favorite greenhouse.

She enjoyed gardening and she passed that legacy onto me.

My "sister" (sister-in-law) brought me this lovely hydrangea on Easter.  Being it is lavender makes us both remember mom because this was her favorite color.

Years may come and go but the sweet memories we have of those we love still have the power to warm our hearts.

To celebrate this special day I spent several hours out in the garden.  For certain, Mom would have been pleased.

Thank you all for stopping by to visit.  See you next week.

Hugs

Debbie

  2. Your mom is an April girl, just like me. So wonderful that you inherited the gardening gene from her. So did I from my mom. Beautiful flowers, love the hydrangeas!

  4. Good morning, beautiful post. My Mom was a gardener too always had gorgeous flower gardens-we let the neighbors dig up what they wanted for remberance. My Mom's bday was on april 10th and my little sister's was April 6

  5. What a beautiful way to remember her. It sounds like you honored her in exactly the way she would have loved—sun, flowers, and time in the garden.

That hydrangea feels especially meaningful, like a quiet connection that’s still there.

    Thinking of you today. 💜

  7. What a lovely post in remembrance of your mom, Debbie. I love that her favorite color was lavender, as mine is purple. The hydrangeas are so pretty. Your words are special on "years may come and go." And your bunny cup that holds the flowers is soooo cute. This was such a dear post, Debbie.

  11. Awww, moms are wonderful. My mom has been gone for 40 years, I'm almost your mom's age. But, I still think of her and think, I should show her this and a photo of a rainbow. Thanks for your sentiments and jogging my memory.
