Dear Dad,
It has been eight years since you went home to heaven. Such a long time since I heard you say "Good Morning Daughter". You always knew it would be me calling early. I would say "good morning and how are you?" You would say "I am good and how about you?"
What I would give to hear your voice one more time. I miss your sound advice and wisdom...I miss your jokes and teasing...I miss your laugh.
Thank you for teaching me how to live...giving me a love for animals...and most importantly raising me with a faith to follow the Lord.
I know you are in the most perfect of places and someday I will see you again. In the meantime I am so thankful I had you for my dad.
Love Always,
Your Daughter
Bless all of you for stopping by and letting me share a small tribute to my father today. Have a good week.
Hugs
Debbie
"Listen to your father, who gave you life..." Prov.23:22a (NIV)
You were so fortunate to have such a wonderful father. Hugs to you on this day!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post, Debbie. A wonderful tribute to your amazing father. Sending you warm hugs.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful letter to your dad, Debbie. So, that is where your love of animals comes from. I had a wonderful dad as well, but he died when I was only 28 - I was not at all ready to lose my dad at such a young age. But they are with us always.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week ahead.

I have to be honest - it was a beautiful letter to your father. He sounded so warm and lovely. I am glad you had that.
ReplyDeleteLove, sandie
What a lovely tribute to your dad! I'm sure he is smiling down on you and that you can feel his love. ((Hugs!!))
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute to your father, Debbie! Beautiful photo! My father passed away more than 20 years ago, but I talk to him now and then. And now my son is a father, and doing so well. Learned from his granddad, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute to your dad.
ReplyDeleteBoa tarde, Debbie
ReplyDeleteLinda homenagem, também tive um pai maravilhoso e a minha mãe também, a esperança é saber que estão com o Senhor e isso nos conforta, um forte abraço.
Such a heartfelt remembrance of your father, Debbie. Thanks so much, too, for visiting my blog today, too. I'm your latest follower on Blogger! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this, I'm reading this late and on the eve of my Dad's birthday. You reminded me of some great memories.
ReplyDeleteLovely tribute to your dad, Debbie. I lost my dad seven years ago, and I can't believe it's been that long. He used to call me his "favorite daughter"--and I was his ONLY daughter, LOL. We will always miss them, and always be glad they were our dads.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful letter to father.
