This Sunday was one of those.
Before the rain arrived (yeah for rain) the shepherds and I walked around savoring what was growing.
There are pink and magenta...
peach...
and warm buttery yellow.
Looks like there is going to be a great crop of green beans coming our way as well as tomatoes.
Can hardly wait till the first one ripens.
The much needed moisture is a welcome blessing.
It also gave me extra time to spend in the studio.
Maybe some of you will share what you do on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Debbie
"Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land." 1 Kings 17:7 (NIV)
These are so lovely, Deb! Our daylilies are also abloom -- don't you just love them!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely easy Sunday. We had some rain and predicted storms this evening/night. Everything is so GREEN and LUSH because of the mild winter and wet spring. Hope you enjoy those beans and tomatoes (and perhaps a painting of them once you pick them?).
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Oh, your rainy afternoon sounds wonderful, Debbie, as it's been in the 100's the last
ReplyDeletecouple of days here. The yellow flower blooming is so pretty, and there is nothing
like home grown tomatoes. My dad would bring in some from his garden, and it
was such a treat for us. I'm so glad you got some rain, and we really need it here.
Rainy days are just the best to watch movies, sip on hot drinks, and have a Yummy
treat, or maybe read a book or catch up on our favorite blogs like I'm doing right
now. : )

We enjoyed a nice cooler and a little rain weekend too-Pretty flowers-happy new week Kathy
ReplyDeleteLots of daylilies are all over the place here as well. It feels like they've multiplied even faster than normal.
ReplyDeleteHappy Week to you!
How rewarding are those walks in the rain, nice dog, I really like animals, here we have the first days of strong heat, you have to adapt.
ReplyDeleteFlowers are few left everything is dry, summers are like that.
Best regards.
I'm glad to see some of your colorful day lilies. Yes, the rain has been a boon to the flowers growing here too. On rainy days I enjoy doing some reading and sketching. Looks like we may be having a bit more. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been trying to comment… no luck.. one more time!😂. I love this post.. your vegetable garden is wonderful as the beautiful flowers especially the yellow flower… enjoy the rest of the week!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your artwork! Rainy days are not only good for nature, but also for doing some painting.
ReplyDeleteYour lilies are so nice. Here it is raining today and I am so glad with it.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your sketches, including the pressed leaves/flowers sketch. :-) Almost every day here is Sunday right now. Slowly getting out and about. Sunday was puzzles, reading and some old TV on DVDs. Catching up on blogs.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh.....you lucky thing. Your beans look wonderful, mine have become snail food. They are leaving the peas, for the moment. I guess they might be dessert. My Sunday has been much like yours, dog walking, gardening and painting and cooking. All the good things in life. Best wishes for a great week.
ReplyDeleteWatching your photos, I'd like to spend one summer and autumn in New England. Can there be a more picturesque place?
ReplyDeleteAnd a happy announcement: I have moved to wordpress. The url is: https://wordpress.com/home/gentlymadblog.wordpress.com
And I'm having a book give away! It's a mystery written by a 17 year old homeschooler. Trust me, it is very good and is written from a Christian worldview. I think I have one copy left, but if I have a good response, I will give away more.
Blessings,
Sharon

Deletewe have been getting some much needed rain as well-weaving is very calming, that's awesome you are immune to poison ivy I am really allergic to it, but not as bad as my Mom was she always ended up in the hospital-happy new week Kathy
ReplyDeleteYour daylilies are so pretty. Such pretty colors. Ours have bloomed and gone except for a couple of scrawny Stargazer lilies. Your Sherherd is beautiful, and big. I noticed you said Shepherds. Do you have more than one? We are supposed to get rain tomorrow. I try to cut out a few aprons and bonnets on a rainy day, but lots of rainy Sundays I waste too much time looking out the windows at the rain and get nothing done. :)
J'aime beaucoup tes petites aquarelles...
Gros bisous
A very creative Sunday afternoon , lovely works ! On rainy Sundays , I do exactly the same as you , I paint :-))
ReplyDeleteLove your colorful flowers and your lovely paintings. Hope you will have a good harvests from your beans and tomatoes. I'm envious that you can grow your own food needs. On Sunday afternoon, I usually listen to songs of praise program on TV, then walking or painting or cooking.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've got a great garden this summer! I'm sure the plants appreciated the rain. We are enjoying a rainy day today in Florida, and it's cooled it off outside some, which I appreciate. I love reading, sipping a drink (tea or coffee usually) and looking out the window at the falling rain. So peaceful.
