Standing Strong

Golden Rod is standing strong during summer's heat;

 Queen Anne's Lace too.

Many folks consider these a nuisance - mere  weeds.  I do not.

To my thinking they are beauty growing well in the most adverse conditions.  They inspire me to stand strong and flourish in difficult situations.

Even during drought these two plants continue to bloom.  They refuse to give up spreading cheer.

As I visit so many of you weekly I find this same strength and beauty in each of your posts.  You often share lovely thoughts, talents, and wonderful photos that spread inspiration and encouragement.  In reality we all have our own set of troubles, concerns, and challenges.  Life happens.  How well we all know that truth.  Yet when we take a moment to share something ordinary from our day, we find joy.  That ordinary becomes truly extraordinary.  Thank you dear friends for visiting me and inviting me to visit you.  Let us keep on Standing Strong.  God Bless!

Debbie

    Gros bisous

  4. Lovely photos. Each month there are different flowers and colors along the road and in the fields. This year, Queen Anne's Lace is super abundant, masses of them all over the place. Wildflowers are giving us beauty in these difficult times. A garden lesson as well...to not over water.

  6. This is a good message for me as I am doing a lot of weeding right now. My "weeds" are yarrow. They spring up in my periwinkle bed. This year they overtook the whole bed! But they have a pretty flower so I left them until they turned brown. Same with the daisies. They come up all over the place. Again, I leave then until they die and pull them up. Not worry. They will all return next year from the seeds that were dropped.

  7. Oh Debbie, this is so beautiful, and just what I needed to hear today. Your words flow like silk. I don't know if anyone ever told you that you were a good writer, but you are! It's hard to have strength during truly difficult times, but God gives me that strength and comfort every time. And coming over here was, indeed, the best thing I did today.

    Have a wonderful week, Debbie.

  13. In these difficult times that is essential, staying strong, it helps a lot to look around us and see nature in all its splendor, how plants adapt to the seasons, to the weather, everything is a survival.
    Happy weekend.

  14. I've always wondered why some things that have pretty flowers are considered weeds.

Although I must say, a few years ago, when my mother and I visited upstate New York to see our old home, the golden rod was everywhere and I had quite a coughing fit.

    Thanks for the lovely photos!

  15. This is a beautiful post. Goldenrod and Queen Anne's Lace are my two favorite wildflowers. And you are right about these two flowers standing strong. One large Queen Anne's Lace plant came up near my garden. I watered it and mowed around it and cared for it and it bloomed beautifully.
