Faithful

These three flowers are always faithful friends...poppies, cornflowers (bachelor buttons), and larkspur.

They take no care and every year they reseed themselves and bloom the month of June.

I like faithful - don't you?  Not only in flowers but relationships as well.

This past week my hubby and I celebrated 43 years of faithfulness.  A bunch of living has happened but always our love has remained constant.

Like these petals it takes time for love to mature.  It grows and blossoms during times of trials.  It flourishes as long as one thinks of the other first.

The more care that goes into meeting the other's needs the more joy abounds.

Love is a faithful friend that keeps a marriage strong.

Speaking of faithful...thank you for always stopping to visit.   It means so much.   Have a blessed week.

P.S. To all the fathers out there - hope you had a great day.

Hugs

Debbie

"Be faithful , even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life."  Rev. 2:10 (NIV)

  2. Oh, Jeanie, I felt so happy reading your description of love and marriage and faithfulness...And I love the connection between your beautiful, faithful flowers and your love for one another. Funny thing is, I had the sense that you were younger than 40 years old!
I also like the way you always have a verse, even though I am not familiar with the Bible. You are offering the gift of a meaningful introduction to it to people like me. Congratulations to you both...I especially love the first photo...

  17. I never think to plant cornflowers. But I love them. I remember seeing them for the first time years ago when we visited Banff, AB. They were growing free along a mountain stream. Larkspur and poppies are also favourites. // Happy Anniversary to you and your husband!
