Favorite Psalm

This week a dear friend in an email ask me if I had a favorite Psalm.

I had to ponder this question a bit.
There are 150 chapters to this beloved book.

After careful consideration I chose Psalm 139. It begins with O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. "

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;  your works are wonderful, I know that full well... all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be...

Search me, O God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting."  vs. 14 - 16 - 23 & 24. (NIV)

Thank you for letting me share a favorite Psalm with you.   Hope if you have one - you will share too!

Have a wonderful week.

Hugs Debbie

  5. Hello Debbie, I’ve always loved The Lord is my shepherd Psalm 23;

    The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me… and so on.

    We recited it every Sunday morning at Sunday school, and I found parts of it (the valley of the shadow of death) quite frightening, but I loved the flow of the words. These days I find it uplifting.

    Have a lovely week, Barbara.
