Transition

September is a month of transition.  The days grow a bit shorter - the cricket's chorus a bit louder and the temperatures a bit cooler.

The scenery continues to look like summer but there are touches of color here and there.

In the fields harvest time is seen.

Wagons are filled with the last cuttings of the season.

Garden"s bounty is being put by.

The hills are waiting to exchange their greens for more brilliant hues.

Transitioning is in the air.   September is here!

May each of you enjoy it - God Bless.

  2. Your surroundings are beautiful and I am sure will become even more so as the season turns - I too have been busy in the kitchen - there is so much to do at this time of year - with such bounteous harvests. Have a good week.

  3. I love September, almost Autumn, but here in France it still has the warmth of an English summers day. Your countryside looks very similar to where I live. The acorns are beginning fall, along with some leaves which have turned brown. Each month in each season has it's beauty. Loved seeing your photos.

  7. I wish our Septembers were as lovely as yours! Even though it still feels like summer here, we do see a change in the light and occasionally have cooler early mornings and nights. I make do with these seasonal changes until our Fall comes along.

  14. Not much of a farmer, but I can say that the farmers haven't begun harvesting here yet. I was told that they need to wait for the moisture content of the produce to be at a certain level before harvesting. I am sure the gardens (as opposed to crops) have begun relinquishing their fruits, however.

  17. Love your photos. Yes I feel a nip in the air at night but the days are still warm. My Japanese maples are starting their splendid show of color among st my evertgreens. I am hoping for a mild winter this year. I hate lousing the long daylight hours.
