Promise

These crocus bring the promise of spring...

the budded pussy willows too.

The robins and red-winged blackbirds have returned.  The cardinals are busy building their nests and preparing for their young.  Spring is in the air!

All of this has filled my heart with hope making me anxious to plant seeds and work in the dirt.

Picked up this lovely book at the library yesterday.  There are beautiful photos and enchanting words that touch the soul with the meaning of how connected we are to the Great Gardener of all!  Christie Purifoy captures the beauty of how a garden can add not only to the outdoors but turn a house into a home.   A great book to read just before retiring for the night!

Well friends St. Patrick's  Day arrives Monday.

My blogging buddy Sandie at "Chatty Crone" encouraged me to celebrate.  Upon her advice, am doing so!

To mark the celebration hubby and I will be having cabbage and corn beef with carrots and lime gelatin for dessert.  Naturally one must have something good to eat in order to celebrate :)!   May everyone have a blessed week.

Hugs

Debbie

Precious

Life is made of up of precious moments.  Sometimes they come in a glimpse of a striking bird...

 a surprise blossom blooming underfoot...

or a gibbous waxing moon.

These three are mine today.  Hope you will share yours.  Have a lovely "Holy Week" for all who are celebrating the Lord's resurrection.

God willing, see you after Easter.

Seeing Signs

Finally we are seeing signs of spring.

The crocus are beginning to bloom...

This one lone snowdrop is working its way up through the remaining fallen leaves.

The violas that hubby brought to me last spring are coming out of their long winter's sleep.

Yes friends I am seeing signs of spring.

May all of you who have experienced ice and snow and zero temps be seeing those signs as well.

Have a blessed week.

Is it Here?

Snowdrops

At Harmony Hills we have been asking is it here?  Has spring sprung?

Well it may be too early to say but here are a few signs to be found.

These wee snowdrops are blooming...

Crocus
The crocus are beginning to open...

Blue Scilla
and these little blue scilla are starting to bloom.

All three are good indications that spring may be here soon.

Hope those who are weary of winter are seeing some of spring's promises too.

Have a lovely week.

Signs

We found some precious signs of spring today.
They came slowly this year.   Nonetheless they have started to arrive.

There was even a blossom or two to sniff.

A beautiful blue sky was so nice to see.  The honking geese could be heard overhead.    The peepers were even letting us know they were awake.   When they start to sing I know spring has finally come.

The woods look sparse now.   Soon it will burst with new life.

Thank you for stopping by.   I loved sharing some signs of spring with you.   Hope you are seeing some too!

Setting Earlier

The sun is setting earlier these days.   A month ago we saw dusk arrive at 9:00 and then a few weeks ago it was 8:30 and now it is 8:00.   ...
