Faithful

These three flowers are always faithful friends...poppies, cornflowers (bachelor buttons), and larkspur.

They take no care and every year they reseed themselves and bloom the month of June.

I like faithful - don't you?  Not only in flowers but relationships as well.

This past week my hubby and I celebrated 43 years of faithfulness.  A bunch of living has happened but always our love has remained constant.

Like these petals it takes time for love to mature.  It grows and blossoms during times of trials.  It flourishes as long as one thinks of the other first.

The more care that goes into meeting the other's needs the more joy abounds.

Love is a faithful friend that keeps a marriage strong.

Speaking of faithful...thank you for always stopping to visit.   It means so much.   Have a blessed week.

P.S. To all the fathers out there - hope you had a great day.

Hugs

Debbie

Thievery and other Happenings

Friends I am sad to say that in the midst of  the lovely month of July I discovered a thief.

For quite some time this peach tree has been losing its lovely fruit.
In the spring it was loaded with the bountiful promise of an abundant harvest.
In my dreams I was baking fresh peach pie...savoring golden sweet jam on my morning toast and having plenty to share with family members.

Alas it isn't happening.  Today on my usual walk  I spotted the cause of my disappearing fruit.

Right in broad daylight and not in the least upset getting caught - here he is!  I ask you do you think that face looks the least bit ashamed?

So it is off to the berry patch I go.
Better hurry before that little rascal decides he wants some berries with his peaches.

By the way I am still doing some painting this summer.

Over at Doodlewash they are celebrating #WorldWatercolorMonth.  Am not participating every day but whenever I can will be posting a bit of art.   It is not too late for others to join.

Well until next time have a blessed week.

Hugs Debbie

P.S.  Watch out for those thieves.   They may appear cute but don't be deceived they will steal your best fruit!

June

The month of June is already gifting us with lovely picturesque moments.

Pink poppies and larkspur are in full swing.

Abundant sunshine and blue skies lift hearts...

while fresh picked strawberries wet appetites.

A special scene such as this is sure to bring a smile.

Speaking of smiling - here is someone else who seems to be enjoying this beautiful month of June!   Hope you all are too.

P.S.
Thank you everyone for your sweet words , thoughts and prayers at the loss of my dear father.   They mean so much.

Hugs Debbie

Keeping those Promises

Poppies & Larkspur
Thirty-nine years ago hubby and I promised to love, honor and cherish each other.

We are still keeping those promises.

"Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails..." 1 Cor. 13: 7 - 8a (NIV)

Have a blessed week.

Hugs Debbie

August

Most often August is generally very hot and dry here.   This year though we are enjoying cool temperatures.   The garden has received an abundance of rain all summer.   This has made everything flourish.
I am appreciating that the flowers are still blooming well.
These morning glories will keep the show going until frost.

The dill seems to love the extra moisture.   It has spread everywhere.

Don't recall the poppies ever blooming this late in the summer.  They dislike hot weather.

Holly Hocks continue to grow tall.  Wonder if they are trying to touch the sky!

Even the field remains lush and green.  It still needs mowed every week.

Some folks enjoy those "dog days" of August.  I much prefer skipping them.   How about you?

Thanks for taking time to visit.   Hope you have a great end to your week.    God Bless!

June's Garden

The garden in June is always a treat.

Peonies unfold and dance in the breeze...

Irises too!

Orange Poppies and purple salvia clamor to be seen.

The Weigela Shrub spreads its branches and sends its blossoms cascading here and there.

Spiderwort refuses to stay in one place.  It pops up everywhere.

The garden is always lovely.   June's is especially so.

"The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places..."Psalm 16:6 (NIV).   I hope yours have too!
God Bless and thank you for letting me share my garden in June.

Remembering

Tomorrow I will be remembering all those who served this country well.   They stood up and answered when duty called.   I live free because they did.

These soldiers fought in far away places.   They endured and suffered much.  Some fell never to return.   Others came back wounded and lost.

Why?

They knew that freedom was the only way.   Even if it cost everything.

What a blessing it is to choose where to live and work!   What a privilege to worship as one sees fit!   What a gift it is to be free!

                                                                  Tomorrow I will be remembering!

Setting Earlier

The sun is setting earlier these days.   A month ago we saw dusk arrive at 9:00 and then a few weeks ago it was 8:30 and now it is 8:00.   ...
