October Day

It was a perfect October day.

A great opportunity to go outdoors with a sketchbook and some paints.

Here is a glimpse of my outdoor studio.

From this spot I was able to catch

spots of color here and there.

The poison ivy on this tree always marks the beginning of color change.

The photo doesn't quite capture the brilliant crimson it turns.

We had such a wet September that made the mushrooms pop.  This one was particularly large.

I was able to get a photo before hubby mowed it down.

There is nothing more blue than an October sky.  Just a few wispy clouds were seen.  By the end of the afternoon they were gone.

Gunny

and Kelsey both enjoyed the day.

Thank you all for stopping by and letting me share a perfect October day with you.

Would love to hear about yours!  Hope you will share.

Hugs

Debbie

  2. I liked your notes or poem with the daffodils - did you paint and write it outside on your table? Gunny and Kelsey looked so cute - I think they are enjoying the cooler weather before the bad weather comes. And it will, won't it? I did not know poison ivy was red. Kind of shocks me.

  6. That's true, the skies I've seen lately in October are so blue. What a nice art space you have outside for your art projects. I can see why you would like to sketch some of autumn's beauty. Your dogs look so happy and out of breath from roaming around. And please watch out for the poison ivy. Have a sweet October week, Debbie.

  7. It sure looks like a beautiful October day there. We have had clouds and a little rain the last two days. Can't complain though, every little bit helps with the drought. Gunny and Kelsey are both beautiful! I like their names.

  11. Thank you for the lovely photos of your October day. It looks very relaxing with time to appreciate the things around you. Part of my day was spent sketching some patrons of a coffee shop in Sayville and then relaxing in the sun by the beach for a while. I really enjoyed it! Have a lovely weekend.
